sundstrom
He was interviewed on CBC radio about an hour ago: re: NJ - Lou gets a bad rap in the media as being a tough negotiator. he's done much for me and my family that's never made the papers. i have a ton of respect for him and the Devils. the commentators then brought up that they thought that how lou bascially banished M+M+M did not resonate well with other players throughout the league. they also argued that brodeur is the team's salary cap (of course Elias makes more but who's counting). metallidevils
are they seriously blaming brodeur for the cap issues of the past few years? he deserved MORE money than he got, but instead took less because he knew Lou was in trouble. Any team in the league would've taken him for that price.
Beetlebum
maybe he is coming back as well. one could dream.
nmigliore
Honestly in TODAY's NHL, Brodeur is worth about $8-10mil/yr
DevilzFan
maybe he is coming back as well. one could dream. I'd trade Gio and VV in a heartbeat for Nieds. The Duck's wouldn't though. heh.
SatansDevils
maybe he is coming back as well. one could dream. NEXT season after his contract runs out with Anaheim this season. I would like to see Niedermayer comeback for one or two more seasons with the Devils then retire his #27 to the rafters. Yes, one could dream. Just never know. annabelle
If one player should account for a large portion of the cap, who better than Martin Brodeur? I wonder how Lou sleeps at night knowing that he has BRODEUR taking up so much cap space...
SegaDevil
You guys are missing the point big time. Brodeur is the self-imposed cap on salaries in NJ, with only Elias earning more.
