El Diablo
I don't think this was what he had in mind Diablo even with the ridiculous amount he'll get.Pitching in potential meaningless games in late August and September is not part of the plan. Devils731
There was a Mets thread less than a month ago about the team shaving their heads. Would you like to go ahead and start a Mets thread and talk about how great they're doing? The media wants to shove Clemens down everybodies throat so it shouldn't be surprising that people talk and comment on it. Of course it also isn't a surprise that Yankee fans hate when other fans talk badly about their team, all fans do, but when you crow about your team a lot, which the Yankee fans around me do, and you're going to have to eat crow when things go poorly. CRASHER
How about some of the Mets fans here taking that initiative?
El Diablo
I stand by what I said Clown -- the man is a gutless puke -- if he was the leader you rented then he should have wanted to pitch last night - he got "hurt" and it wasnt possible so be it, but he wasnt going to pitch there anyways just like he sidesteps Shea, If we didnt hear so much about the second coming "OH MY GOODNESS GRACIOUS " I would be less inclined to comment on it - but since it is rammed down our throats, then you get this kind of anti-yankee reaction, and yes I'll go on record I hate the yanks but I hate the rags more... and that I hope we can agree on. PeteyNice
Clemens first start was pretty good. He struggled early but got better as the game went on retiring the last 7 men he faced. 107 pitches 6IP 5H 3ER 2BB 7K A Quality Start. And the Yankees are winning 8-3 in the 8th. SatansDevils
For that kind of ridiculious money he better win and the Yankees better give him run support. Then again it is the lowly Pirates. Does not matter as the Yankees season (is over)will be over come playoffs. Too many games behind the Redsox and for the wildcard.
PeteyNice
Yankees are 5.5 back of the WC with over 100 games left in the season. That is not exact insurmountable. Clemens pitched well. If he goes 6IP 3ER every start he will win a ton of games.
