  1. it’s like half as many words as your post my guy. you gotta learn the meme before you can use the meme!!!!
  2. I agree with this to an extent. But my "I could deal with" levels with Tatar have pretty much reached their end. Another couple of useless games getting top-6 minutes and it'll be tough to watch.
  3. Every debate with you turns into a weird battle of "how many more replies should I send before I'm too exhausted". Boqvist is at least passable as a 4th liner. Holtz/Tatar are the two that are interchangeable because neither are very strong defensively. (Tatar is the worst Devil I've seen in my time as a fan in the defensive zone. That is said without hyperbole.) "Tatar did (belong in the NHL)" is your reason for him getting powerplay minutes and top-line minutes? Jason Arnott did too, should we toss him out there? Tatar is washed up, and an obvious anchor on a young and exciting team. You don't have to agree with me, you don't have to like Holtz, you don't have to hate Tatar, but please for the sake of all that is holy please stop sending "dear diary" type responses when I say Tatar over Holtz sucks.
  4. Why does Holtz need to prove he deserves his spot when you're literally admitting Tatar doesn't? And it's weird that you think he "keeps up". He drags play at a hideous level.
  5. You mean that whole 1 time he scored? C'mon dude lol. He's getting minutes he doesn't deserve. He's got the 6th most powerplay minutes on the entire team! He's averaging a full 4 minutes of ice time per game than Holtz. He's frequently the last man into the zone, he's allergic to skating with the puck (probably because he fvcking sucks at it) and his only redeemable skill is that he's got a good shot -- but we haven't seen that since he's signed on to be a part of the team. I'm glad "you remember him looking good." I don't remember that. I "see and feel" that Tomas Tatar is a net negative when he's on the ice, and he's being given a roster spot and a slot on the top-three lines that he doesn't deserve.
  6. This makes me so angry. He looked a little lost the last game, but that's what Tatar looks like every time he steps on the ice. He looked a half step behind, but that's still a half step ahead of Tatar and certainly Boqvist. If Lindy isn't going to play him, let him go back to the AHL so at least he's seeing regular ice time. Or just do what you fvcking should and cut Tatar outright.
  7. if that were the case i’m pretty sure pavel zacha would be very very very very very very very dead.
  8. Blackwood out with an upper body injury. No news as to how long. Bernier is out for practice today. Possibly good timing? The devils didn’t initially expect him until thanksgiving; seems like he’s early.
  9. 15 years, holy cow. From the day the doors opened until the start of the 2011 season, my dad and I were the only people to watch Devils games in Section 230, Row 2, Seats 7 and 8. We didn't miss a single game -- preseason, regular season, or playoffs. Best memories of my life.
  10. https://www.nhl.com/devils/news/kicking-things-off--10-takeaways/c-336737888 I get it that this is probably her role for the team, but why does she make herself seem like a main character in some of these stories? This whole thing made me cringe so horribly. I have a bone to pick with some of those soccer players... walking by the intense game the other day, I got caught with the ball at my legs. Upon turning around, there were a lot of guilty faces and some hysterical finger-pointing, everyone blaming the other. Those who I suspect, based on their reactions? Tatar, Palat and Haula. It was definitely one of them whose aim was off. I got a good laugh out of it, especially because nothing will (I hope) ever top the last time the pre-soccer game became a little too all-inclusive and I definitely took one for the team!
  11. Probably a good example of just how dynamic of a player he's turning into. I wasn't bullish on giving him a massive deal in the summer but he's shoving it up my hoop. Give him whatever he wants. Keep him around for a long fvcking time.
  12. there are some reasonable takes about why you'd be skeptical about blackwood as our number one. "goalie wins" certainly isn't fvcking one of them lol.
  13. This was detroit’s first regulation loss this season. By all accounts this was a good (at the very least red hot) Wings team with fresher legs that we just dad-dicked in their building.
  14. Fabian Zetterlund needs a spot on this team moving forward. Guy is an absolute dog on the ice, has shown he has a gnarly side to him and my goodness he looks good
  15. just once i wanna be like “wow! 15-5 shots! so nice we’re dominating 3-0” lol goddamnit
  16. Posted this in the wrong thread lmao I was friends with a Duke Basketball player a few years back and he said they got legitimate media training. They practiced answers, got quizzed, would be asked horrible questions and have to respond kindly throughout school. Turns them into robots to the media which the team wants. I would be shocked if Jack didn’t have that exact same thing at USNDTP

  18. i’m sure this has been said before but my wife just asked if the detroit coach was the inspiration to the old dude in Minions and i spit out my food.
  19. we make up, what, ~25 semi active members? we’re not a great microcosm of the fanbase as a whole at all. i lurk on HF and they think advanced stats are the end all be all to all discussions. Reddit thinks advanced stats are legitimate gospel from a higher deity and to question them are to question the very nature of human existence.
  20. Biz with another interesting Devils take that mirrors some of your thoughts on NJDevs — he puts 100% of the blame for the Devils first two losses on…. the defense and the effort. He said it’s not Lindy’s system, it’s not the goaltenders, it’s the unwillingness of several of our players to win the tough battles in the slot or play hard nosed hockey where it counts. He and Whit also said (which made me LOL) that “nobody in the world likes analytics more than devils fans. stop sending me your fvcking spreadsheets.” lmao
