I just swept the Flyers in the conference quarterfinals. Marty got two shutouts, and actually won 2 overtime games. (One of them, I came back from 3-0 to win in OT.) It's not like I play easy settings, either. Next, I get to play the Rangirls. They are going down. There ain't no curse in this house. Funny thing: Even in NHL 2004, if you look at the list of GMs and the profit they're making, right down the bottom... NY Rangers: $0. Hahaha. I'm selling out the CAA, too. Not excited about having to resign players. Friesen is asking for 9 mil or something like that. Gomez and Madden are asking about 5 mil each. And St. Louis (who I got along with Kubina in a trade for Langenbrunner, Guolla, and a late round draft pick [Langenbrunner was pissing me off and my defense was whack at that point]) is asking for a big amount, too. Who do I open my wallet for and who do I let go? Such a tough decision. Man, this game is awesome.

Oh, forget it. I'll just buy my own jersey and use that.

The Devils are playing the Bruins tomorrow at the Dunkin Donuts Center (home of the Providence Bruins), which is within walking distance of where I am now. BUT I CAN'T GO! AHHH!

New Jersey is not the place for this guy. Odds are, he will ask for some ridiculous amount of money his first or second year or whine about how he's not getting enough ice time and Lou will let him walk... pick up some gritty vets or something. The NJ system is not set up to produce superstars.

I'm making the transition, as well. Getting some new ice skates Tuesday hopefully, going to hit the open skate as much as possible. The intramural season starts near the end of October.

You guys are so stubborn. There's no good reason not to like it other than "that's just the way it's been." Baseball is a totally different deal. It's not white and color, it's white and gray. Occasionally teams wear their colored 3rd jerseys at home.

Too bad they don't have ESPN for PC. I just picked up NHL 2004 today. Best Buy still didn't have it out. Luckily, the Target next door did.

The backhander thing really bothers me, too. Like I said, I want a hockey sim. I want it to be about playing real strategy to score goals instead of just running around banging the hell out of everyone until you get the puck then skating up ice deking and spinning until you score.

I want to play as a team, for you guys who like the strategy of the game. It's at least be cool to get humans playing LW, C, and RW, if not all 5 skaters. I hate the way the computer handles the game. Breakouts suck, they never set up the PP, etc.

From what I found in the demo, there's no sure trick to scoring a goal like in a lot of other hockey games. I get really excited when I score "real" goals. I need to get the game, but the Best Buys near me won't have it in until tomorrow.

Haha. I want to be skating by this time next week. Intramurals start in the middle of October!

I just ordered the 1052s from wcdf. Can't wait until I get them! I am excited.

My favorite thing about this game is that you can play as 1 guy (well, position). To me, that makes it much more like a simulation than an arcade game. Being a hockey player and fan, I appreciate the stuff that goes on without the puck. I know the ESPN NBA B-ball game has a sim mode and an arcade mode. Is the hockey game anything like this?

Cool. I'll head over to a hockey shop sometime this week. I need to get skates soon so I can relearn how to ice skate before intramurals start. Haha.

Which companies use skate sizes and which use regular shoe sizes? The Mission roller skates I bought this summer use shoe sizes, and they're 10.5s (or 10s, I forget).
