CONGRATS #30

After watching so many 1-0 and 2-1 games to see 7 goals on Saturday and 8 goals tonight it's alot of fun every now and then. I know this team is not going to keep scoring like this every game but if the EGG line can keep producing and creating chances like this look out.

Congrats Marty on setting the new NHL record for consecutive 30 win seasons!

There never will be another Scott Stevens. To label Hale as the next Stevens is a huge weight to put on the kids shoulders. I have liked what I've seen from him this year and I do think he will be a vital part of this team in the coming years but to label him as the next Stevens is ridiculous. Reminds me of another guy I heard about all last summer. The next Roy/Broduer. Whats his name again? Oh yea.....the flash in the pan Jiggy. Only time will tell how good Hale is going to be but from my outlook there will only be one #4.

With him still at the reigns as GM there is still plenty for him to screw up. I don't think the mentlity he has that this is still 1980s hockey is going to go away now that he is not coaching the team. As long as he is still involved at moving players, and signing these outrageous contracts nothing is going to change in Rangerland.

Very good points guys. I have to agree Marty is playing WAY TO MUCH. Not only do you have to factor in him playing about 75 games a year but thrown in the fact that with the exception of 1996 he has played in the playoffs every year. Thats a boat load of playing time. And the fact that last year was a long one for Marty with winning the cup the guy simply needs a break. We all know Brodeur wants to play every night and I wish he could play every night. Well he basically does but he is human. He needs a damn break every now and then. It has become more apparent of late that it's time to sit him for a few games. We need him sharp and focused once the grind of the playoffs come. 2 of the last 3 season have been long ones for Marty. And with the amount of games he plays in the regular season a burnout is not unlikely. This team is going as far as Brodeur carries them. They will not win a cup with Clemmensen between the pipes. Burns better get is act together and give him some rest or it's going to be a quick exit from the playoffs this year. If we have to play the Sens again I want Marty at nothing less than 100%. Thats one team I don't want to play with a tired Brodeur. Yet I really don't see Burns giving him that much rest the remainder of the season.

Dolan thinks Sather is the greatest coach of all time beacuse of the Edmonton years. It's no secret reading the papers and listening to the radio that Dolan doesn't have one clue about hockey. All he cares about is making money. If the Garden was empty every night I'd bet Sather would have been gone a long time ago. I don't remember the exact quote but Dolan once said something along the lines of Sather knows how to win. He's my guy and I'm sticking with him. Maybe Dolan should watch a few games and realize the Rangers or Sather don't know the first thing about winning.

I have alot of Ranger fans that I work with. And I have been listening to the same garbage every year. Your attendance sucks, what fan base you do have is all bandwagon fans, if the Devils win the Cup is there anyone even there to see it, Devils are killing hockey. It's old and boring. I'm sorry but I am enjoying every minute of this. In fact I hope it continues for much longer. I have no sympathy for Ranger fans. But I will give credit where it's deserved and thats to the ones who keep going back to get kicked right back down again. Because thats loyalty. My uncle started taking me to Devils games back in 1984. From that point on it's been all Devils for me. I was never a fan of any other team and I never will be. Everynight I watched the Devils get smacked all over the ice and be the doormats for the NHL. I was lucky enough to not have to go through years and years of never winning anything. I mean when you really think about waiting 13 yrs to win your 1st cup is not that long of a time. The day will come when the Devils are not contenders every year. And there may be long stretches of years without making the playoffs. Only time will tell. But when it does happen Ranger fans will be all over us again. However, I will never turn my back on this team no matter how bad things get. Ever! So I do respect the Ranger fans that still keep showing up and putting their time, energy, money and emotion into their team. But for now I'm going to enjoy this. We have been taking crap from the moment we got here. Now the tide has turned. What goes around comes around. ---Ranger fans need to understand there is such a thing as a diehard, loyal Devils fan.
