I only got the Rumble at the Rock Devils v Flyers poster. Went out and bought a frame for it the day after the game. Its a pretty sweet poster especially with how that game went. I do have to agree with everyone about the diminishing quality though.

I really don't want to beat up on Merrill to much for his gaffs last night. The fanned pass/give away in the third was just awful and he probably could have played that 2-1 better but really he had at least 3 occasions where he was 1 on 1 with McDavid and completely shut him down and pried the puck away from him. Merrill has had plenty of bad games but if anything the last 5 - 10 he has played have been pretty good with plenty of signs of improvement. If he keeps improving his play I may have to revise my "# of NHL games it takes for a defense-man to play correctly in the NHL" from 150 to 300.

I feel like some of you guys are complaining a little bit too much right. We have watched this team flounder for like 2+ months now with bad play and worse effort. At least I can say that they look like they are trying tonight and are getting shots on goal and some quality scoring chances. If they don't go in, that is what it is. We all know this is not a very good team. All I ask for is a solid effort.

What an amazing game. It is such crap that it had to be decided in the shootout instead of playing it out properly. Hell of a game by the US goal tender.

Are you joking right now? are you seriously already claiming Zacha to be a bust? I don;t really know how to reason with someone who is clearly insane but i'll try by just going with the bulk "Things that have been done" method. Lets start with the most recent stuff and work backwards: Hall for Lars (undeniably a positive move, it hurts now but will be a major positive in the near future) Bennett for a third (7 points in 30 games with only a goal is not great production but he does have some skill that hopefully can translate in the near future. Low risk, high reward. A move that can help move the team forward significantly if it goes right and doesn't really set us back at all if it doesn't pan out) Trade 11th over all for 12 overall and a 3rd. Last yeas draft didn't go the way a lot of us wanted due to no fault of the Devils really. At the time of their pick management wanted McLeod, they got him and a 3rd. Nice move to get just a bit extra from a pretty meh situation. AHL lifers for Dead cap (Savard) and a Second. Good moves. nearly free second round pick. a 3rd for Gelinas. I still don't know how we got anything for him. Gelly was nothing more than a big shot and we got something back for him. DSP for Matteau. Trash for trash. a wash at all levels. I guess may be a small win since DSP is still in the NHL and Matteau isn't. Sign Stemp for nothing, trade him for a 2nd and a 4th. Shero got some free picks. Good stuff. Palms for 2nd and 3rd. He was great last year. He is having a bad year this year. Pretty much everybody is having a bad year this year so I'm not about to just give up on him Devils signed Auvitu and Lappin as well . None of this is even considering the addition by subtraction of getting rid of guys like Gio and Tootoo and at least giving some other guys like Kalinen a chance. They haven't necessarily worked out very well but at least they are trying to make improvements to every line. You can say that moves like signing Quincey, Moore, and Lovejoy are bad moves but what else can we do right now? All of them are on cheap contracts and at the very least can become expansion fodder. Do you want to start trading away more picks for players? Are you prepared to pay that kind of price when you have a team that very far away from being a cup contender? Its not like The Devils were left with any sort real trade chips once Lou left. When you have almost nothing you need to have some patience when trying to move forward and get the organization back on track. Too many people are freaking out about how bad this team is in year 2 of a rebuild. The team is bad. We have a non-existent d-core that was made worse in the off season in order to bring in an elite player. The fact that plugs like Quincey lovejoy and moore are still playing at least tells me that Shero isn't trying to rush what little talent we do have in Albany (Scarlett, Santini, Jacobs). On that note the coaching and play this season have been really bad and I am surprised Shero hasn't pushed for something to happen yet.

How is this not a rebuild? we have been selling for two years now and starting to accrue picks and younger talent? What is a rebuild in your eyes? Do you want them to actively just sell of every player to the lowest bidder and become the next Oilers/Toronto/Arizona?

Hahahahhahahaha what the fvck is happening in this game? The refs might as well be a squeaky toy right now. Palms has got to make sure not to be so cheeky after drawing a penalty. He deserved to be called for the push in the back after the play. Are all of these calls just make-up calls?

As a newer fan who only started watching hockey the season after the 2012 cup run I can't tell if i should feel worse for all of you who watched this team be good for so long and now have to watch them be terrible or for myself since all i have ever seen is failure. i will say that this 3-10-4 stretch has been the worst hockey I have seen this team play. It truly is garbage hockey. Alternatively, anybody see Shero's comments today? "Play harder. Really. Play f---ing harder," Shero said. "There's a will that they need, there's a passion and emotion in your game. How many scrums have we been involved in? Nobody's mad at us. "I'm not saying for anyone to fight at all. I'm just saying there's got to be pushback in your game, and pride in your game."

The Devils are 6-5-4 when they score first. going to be 6-6-4 after tonight. worst in the nhl. Food for thought.
