I have tickets to the game, but won't be going due to the weather. I live in the Caldwell area and had to drive on 280 today to get home from a test I took . It was an absolute mess. I do not want to face those hills on 280 this evening so it looks like I'll be stuck home watching this one.

2008 has been such a crappy year. I cannot wait until it's over. My grandmother passed away this morning. She was 91 - I know that she was old and that it was to be expected, but I'm still really upset over it. She had dementia so some days she didn't know who I was and other days she did. In a way we lost her a long time ago, but it doesn't make it any less painful. My other grandma died only about 5 months ago and it just really, to put it plainly, sucks to have to go through this all again. I miss them both very much. My sister called before and asked, "Is there anyway we can postpone the funeral until after friday. I have a Dr. appointment that was really hard to get." Sometimes she just doesn't think. Okay, I just needed to vent. Things have been pretty crappy lately and I am so stressed about - well life in general - that I just want or rather need something good to happen. If I bomb the GRE next friday that will just be the friggin' icing on the cake, won't it?

Haha. Knowing most of my friends it's because they have off from work because of the holidays and so they can get reallllly drunk prior, at, and after the game. I will probably wind up driving.

Why would people be pissed that it was a "younger" fan on the MSG channel? In my opinion, the Devils are still a relatively young team, and people around my age (23) have really grown up with the team and therefore are some of the biggest most diehard fans out there. Don't get me wrong, that's not to say people that are older aren't equally as passionate about the team. My dad who is in his 50s is a huge Devils fan obviously, but before the Devils game to NJ, he did watch Rangers games since he loved hockey and that was the closest team to NJ. I think a large part of why you become a fan of a certain team has to do with your family and who they root for. I didn't have a choice in the matter as after I was born I was bought Devils apparel etc. and that was that. Haha. I think as people in my age group grow older and have children our fan base will only grow. That's why it irritates me when people get cranky about how small our fan base is. A lot of my friends who are Rangers fans are Rangers fans because they're parents are and that's who they've grown up rooting for. If my dad never made the switch to Devils fan (though it wasn't like he was a hardcore Rangers fan or anything) I might be a Rangers fan myself. Thank god I'm not.

Ugh, I honestly hate watching the replay of the Matteau goal. I can clearly remember sitting on my couch fighting to stay awake and then feeling absolutely crushed when the Rangers scored. I cried and it broke my little 9 year old heart. It was awful haha. I'm going to have to catch this when it repeats (again) - very cool that you guys were on. I'm glad Devils fans were well represented!

Thanks guys, I figured that was the case, but you never know... it's so dumb that they do that. I mean, I could get tickets for the Sabres game on 12/13, but everyone really wants to go to the 12/26 game for some reason.

So my friends and I want to go to the Devils game on 12/26 and I just searched for tickets in the upper level on ticketmaster and apparently there are no tickets available. Could it be that the upper level is already sold out or have they just not released the tickets for sale yet? I guess we could go wait in line for $10 tickets, but we'd rather have the tickets and not worry about it.

Changeling - it was very long (but I suppose it needed to be), but it was good. and I recently (re) watched Life is Beautiful at home and it still made me cry at the end. If you're going to watch the movie I recommend the italian version with the subtitles over the dubbed version

Haha. My sister (and her boyfriend who is from the Netherlands. Yes, he is flying to the US to spend the holidays with my fam. Awww.) will be at the Devils game on 12/26 in my parent's lower level seats. My friends are I will also be at this game, but we will be somewhere in the upper level. I don't think my sister's boyfriend knows a lot about hockey and I'd love to hear my sister try to explain anything beyond icing. (and who's hot who's not though I'm sure he really doesn't want to hear that) and I didn't post the details in OT.. yet. Maybe I will to get some opinions on if the people I work with are craaazy or I'm just overreacting.

I don't disagree, I mean, I'm trying to understand the male logic. (I can't believe I'm discussing this seriously right now) So the girl in the black dress is pretty, but also has some "hot" quality that the girl in the red doesn't have so the girl in the black dress wins in the who is more attractive contest. But.. as they say beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Some girls love the guido overly tanned look on guys and I don't. Maybe I don't get it.

Maybe I'm being mean and most of the girls wearing the Parise jerseys aren't "hockey hoes". Perhaps they're real diehard fans who have been loyal to the team for years and are just excited to (finally) have something nice to look at as a... bonus. Unlike my sister who calls me yesterday to ask, "Who is that hot guy on the Devils." My sister used to go to my cousin's hockey games when we were little just for the hot chocolate. Now she'll go for carvel and Parise. I don't want to jinx anything. I'd be crushed if he left. (More crushed then when Arnott left and I was pretty upset over that) Lets not talk about it. I'm trying to use GRE vocab in my everyday life. hehe I have a lot more to study which I should be doing now. Test day is 12/12!! Well, there's been drama, but nothing catastrophic. The people at work are still nuts though. Today one of my co-workers asked me a ... er.. personal question and then everyone proceeded to have a detailed convo regarding this personal question. I can't really get into it in the non-protected area of the board, but yeah, if it wasn't for the paycheck to pay my bills/GRE tutor I would have left that job already

I think if you're a guy you can still get a Parise jersey. There is plenty of man love for Parise. As my friend said, "Either you want him or want to be him." Yep, I celebrate. I just don't want to ask for a jersey since they aren't exactly cheap. I definitely don't want one of those pink jerseys for women, but I think I'd get the women's jersey. I'm just so short I don't want it to be super long on me. Now this is an idea. I know, I know I do hope he'll be a devil forever, but, as I mentioned before I don't want to just be yet another girl with a Parise jersey. It's becoming hackneyed. I'm more than a puckbunny darn it. and haha, thankfully not a lot of drama lately.

I know, I am so ashamed. There is something wrong with me. I have not admitted this to any of my Ranger fan friends (male or female) and I plan on keeping it that way. I will never hear the end of it. Someone hit me or something. Especially since we have Parise on our team. What is wrong with meee;) Speaking of that ... I've been a devils fan since... well basically birth and I don't have a jersey (minus those Modells jerseys they used to give to kids at CAA haha). I'm thinking about getting one when I have the $ and I have no idea what name I would get. I was thinking Parise, but seriously...mostly ever girl I see with kersey has Parise and it makes me not want to go with that. Hm we'll see.

I really hate the Rangers. (I seriously cried in 94 when we lost and my hate has been immense ever since) but I have to admit to something... I think Brandon Dubinsky is sort of cute. Ughhh whyyyy

Watching the game was stressful. I can't help, but be on edge when Clemmensen has to make a save. He just makes me nervous, but then again, maybe I'm not giving him enough credit since we're used to Marty being in net. He just seems so slow to me. I have to admit I closed my eyes for all of the shoot out attemps against Clemmensen. I am so happy/relieved/proud that he made those saves and we got the 2 points. It would have been very hard to take if we lost. On another note, Zubrus had a sh*tty game tonight. He turned the puck over quite a few times.

Maaaybe one day I'll be happy about it. Haha, did you feel good about getting ID'ed or were you upset? I am such a bum today. I need to study for the GRE but it only irritates me because I am so bad at math. No matter how much I study I keep making stupid mistakes and forgetting how to do certain equations. I'm also annoyed because there is nothing going on tonight as per usual. I wish all my friends didn't live at least an hour away. Graduating college sucks. Not being able to find a job sucks. Living at home sucks. blah blah blah blah blah.

I agree. I mean, really, I don't think I could handle the same old article after a loss (especially to the Rangers) that goes on and on about how our defense sucks, we can't score, we take stupid penalties, and the laundry list of who is injured and when they might come back. Ohh and this quote "Among the artists on Zubrus' iPod are Kanye West, T.I., U2, Guns N' Roses, Metallica and Killer." I like Kanye and T.I. personally.
