  1. Mirco Mueller tweeted this out recently:
  2. ...am waiting for the JQ pic & the 'forwards more than make up for it' line..
  3. Thanks - he was my first favorite player. Who couldn't use a little more Verbeek!
  4. This was an amazing deal by Ray. A 3rd for Lovejoy alone would have been great. I'll certainly take any D that seems capable of playing in the NHL. Btw, Yak is LD (in Bing) & Carrick is RD. Hopefully he takes Gryba's place.
  5. I have to say your signature pic makes me think of this: ETA: Funny quote & great to see Cory & crew get 2 W in a row.
  6. Her attempt at trying to make the lines look good?
  7. Very glad Pop's made his way back over to N.A. - he seemed to be getting lost in the Russian leagues. At least they'll be able to keep an eye on him and give him playing time - so many call ups & injuries they could use an extra body. 3rd line RW maybe? Nice article on Xavier Bernard: https://www.theguardian.pe.ca/sports/hockey/xavier-bernard-comes-full-circle-281874/#.XGIJXpDhFtE.twitter And this week's prospects update: https://www.allaboutthejersey.com/2019/2/12/18221070/new-jersey-devils-prospect-update-2-12-19?utm_campaign=allaboutthejersey&utm_content=chorus&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter ETA: In case you don't want to read the whole prospects updated, I'm editing this post to add this part about Ty Smith: Great news on the Ty Smith front! First, he didn’t miss any games after leaving last Saturday’s contest against Portland after falling awkwardly on a hit. Secondly, it appears he is out of his mini “slump”. In 3 games last week he had 5 assists (3 EV, 2 PP), +1, and 13 shots. His 52 assists are good for 3rd overall in the WHL and is top among the defensemen. His 56 points are 2nd among WHL defensemen however he has put that up in 43 games while the leader, Dawson Davidson, has put up 61 points in 55 games.
  8. Carlyle finally out in Anaheim. EVP/GM Murray is taking over, pulling a Lou power move.
  9. I know there's so much love for Lovejoy here, you'll all be relieved that he doesn't want to go anywhere and may retire in NJ (eventually)! “I love it here,” Lovejoy told NJ Advance Media. "I’ve loved playing here, I’ve loved living here, I’ve loved being a Devil, coming to the rink every day. We have not been successful enough this year and I understand when that happens, changes are made, particularly at the deadline. “I am a Devil right now. I have too much respect for the owners, management, coaches, our players, people that work here. I’m going to give everything I have as long as I’m a Devil..." “At this point in my life, with three young children, this is the best place I’ve ever lived," Lovejoy said. "We love living in New Jersey. It’s a place we found really special that we could end up living at for the rest of our lives.” https://www.nj.com/devils/2019/02/nhl-trade-rumors-how-devils-ben-lovejoy-is-approaching-trade-deadline-its-something-i-think-about-every-day.html
  10. The Athletic has an interview with Panarin & he said this about them going to the same team FWIW: https://theathletic.com/808689/2019/02/08/artemi-panarin-in-first-english-interview-smiles-jokes-and-laughs-through-wide-ranging-conversation/ Panarin shot down the suggestion that Bobrovsky and Panarin — now working with the same agent — would be a package deal as free agents this coming summer. “Interesting situation,” Panarin said. “I really like (Bobrovsky) and we’re big friends right now. But we have two different lives.” Also, there's a Tom Kurvers article in the Athletic (which is unlocked so all can read it) - he's been diagnosed with lung cancer. Keep fighting TK & best of luck for a full recovery: https://theathletic.com/808713/2019/02/08/tom-kurvers-lung-cancer-wild-assistant-gm/
  11. You're partially right: https://thehockeynews.com/news/article/kaapo-kakko-is-proving-hes-the-real-deal-for-the-2019-draft The question now becomes one of potential. Because of his smarts and size, Kakko could easily be a center in the NHL and he has begun to play down the middle with TPS Turku in the Liiga. At the world juniors, he’s been back on right wing and that’s fine by him for now. “I feel more comfortable on the wing but I can play center,” Kakko said through translator and teammate Aarne Talvitie. “I think I get more offensive opportunities as a winger, so in this tournament I like it more on the wing.”
  12. I hate to post this because of all the Flyers crap to begin the article BUT the rest is a nice love note to Pickles & worth reading: http://www.espn.com/nhl/story/_/id/25943738/has-carter-hart-solved-flyers-decades-long-goaltending-search
  13. He's been out/injured & he's having a(nother) bad year fwiw. ETA: Best of luck to Boyler!
  14. Devils Insiders‏ @DevilsInsiders Following his awkward tumble and exit from Saturday's game, the Spokane Chiefs say Ty Smith is not listed on this week's official injury report. He is expected to play tomorrow. #NJDevils And this week's Prospects Update: https://www.allaboutthejersey.com/2019/2/5/18209341/new-jersey-devils-prospect-update-2-5-19
  15. In case anyone wants to read a bit about the prospects, I always enjoy this guys take (Ian Pulz): https://deathtaxesandjagr.blogspot.com/2019/02/2019-nhl-draft-ians-top-62-list.html
  16. So the North won the AHL All Star game - big deal, I know, but Blackwood was in net. They won the final round robin game 1-0. JQ & our old pal Reid Boucher is there too: Also, weekly prospects update can be found here: https://www.allaboutthejersey.com/2019/1/29/18199648/new-jersey-devils-prospect-update-1-29-19
  17. Chris Ryan had an update a little while ago: https://www.nj.com/devils/2019/01/taylor-hall-still-absent-from-devils-practice-who-was-on-off-ice-after-bye-week.html Hall has not played in a game since Dec. 23 while recovering from a nagging lower body injury, which was aggravated in that game. He continued to work out off ice over the break and he did skate for the first time on Sunday.
  18. Also from Jeff Ulmer: Schneider seen sitting in the stands, so he's here. JQ with an absolute rocket wins it in OT 3-2! #BingDevils
  19. Strange... a few of the Bing writers I follow on Twitter had been saying that Cory was going to get the start tonight. Jeff Ulmer‏ @Ski931 Blackwood gets the start tonight vs Hartford. Cam backs up. Schneider not dressed. #BingDevil No word on Schneider. Played in 2 of the 3 games on conditioning stint.
  20. This is so sad. Maybe he'll come back to the Devils in some capacity? Devils Insiders Retweeted John Shannon‏Verified account @JSportsnet 7m7 minutes ago More Kyle Dubas announced today that Newfoundland Growlers head coach Ryane Clowe will be stepping down from his position due to medical reasons, effective immediately. Assistant coach John Snowden has been named the Growlers new head coach.
  21. Or maybe Cormier goes back to the Bing & Cory goes to the ECHL lol (further to the below, Wedge is in net for the Amerks): Jeff Ulmer Retweeted PATRICK WILLIAMS‏Verified account @pwilliamsNHL 17m17 minutes ago More PATRICK WILLIAMS Retweeted Rochester Americans Just your average game where Binghamton scores three goals in 2:55 to come back from down 4-1 only to see Rochester bang in two more goals 54 seconds apart. Binghamton has since added another one to close to 6-5. Cory Schneider is in net for Binghamton. ETA: If you want to see all the goals, check out Jeff Ulmer's twitter - he has all the gifs from tonights game: @Ski931
  22. Weekly Prospects Update: https://www.allaboutthejersey.com/2019/1/22/18190846/new-jersey-devils-prospect-update-1-22-19 @ECHLThunder BREAKING - GOALTENDER EVAN CORMIER RE-ASSIGNED TO THUNDER! Cormier played six games for the AHL's @BingDevils after starting the year at the University of Guelph in Ontario. Welcome, @EvanCormier31!!! STORY - https://buff.ly/2Wgk2sC
  23. @DevilsInsiders Zetterlund re-injured his knee. Needs surgery again. Sounds like his season is done. Article in Swedish FWIW: https://t.co/YH3YB9amuz
  24. For those that have a subscription to the Athletic, there's a nice write-up on the top Bing prospects (basically CM interviewed the coach & Fitzy about some of the top guys): https://theathletic.com/772299/2019/01/17/down-on-the-farm-player-by-player-midseason-report-on-the-devils-top-prospects-in-binghamton/ Snippet: Fitzgerald also admitted that White is the “most interesting” defensemen in Binghamton, suggesting he’s become one of the club’s best defensive prospects. White seemed far down the Devils’ prospect depth chart last season when he split time between the ECHL and AHL, but he’s since vaulted ahead of several defensemen and could be on top-10 lists for the club by the end of the year.
