I haven't played NHL 2K6 but I have the EA game...its not too bad...i mean I play on hard and so the games are realistic with the amount goals being scored this year but i've still got a pretty good record and Elias has 60 goals 70 something games into the season ...just seems too many times if I'm meant to lose the game it doesn't matter how many goals I score the other team will come back and score twice more but that is how ALL sports games are....and I don't like how the goalies go down almost every time in a slide but it makes it all the more exciting when they reach a pad up and block the shot...like I said I play on hard for my season so the goalies don't give up as many goals even when they do go down so that makes it more exciting...I just especially like the way I can aim the shot in NHL 06 and I like the special deke button as well although I wish they either had more moves or the moves were a bit more spectacular...I mean I don't play the game to see a realistic defensive trap 1-0 game...it is a game after all...If I wanted real I wouldn't be lazy and playing the video game I'd be on the ice myself Anyway I've tried playing a 2k NFL game (2k3 i think) and a 2K NHL game (2k2 i believe) and I wasn't that impressed...to clunky with the controls and it just seemed like there isn't much they did that tried to out do EA...anywho that's my 2 cents!

Crash and myself..... Giants bust a big one....Redskins lose by a hair.....and the Cowboys finally get a break with crappy plays....life....is....gooooooooood!!! Still a decently hard schedule....Turkey Day we play Broncos and and after that we play the Panthers...not to mention we still have a game against the Giants...can't celebrate tooooo much. But it was a great win that we needed....1st place baby yeah!!!

so the census says the other one looks like crap....or the first one is just that good?

Well listen guys...as a graphic designer I also understand the artistic way a piece should be put together without cluttering up the design or overkilling the message... regardless as I stated before I do have a word mark and a logo that stands by itself all of which have the tail on the Z anyway...I hope this suffices....sammyk NYGDevils32, I'll have these for you in high quality before the days end..I have work tonight though so it will be later....

Hey guys...as creator of the Banner I originally put the tail on the end of the Z but it did two things...one, broke into the word ZONE too much and made it look too much like a wierd letter and ONE so for a final logo i would have the tail on the Z if it was by itself...that or a pitchfork idea I have...second, the idea was way too ubiquitous...it is just too natural and common to see the horns with the tail...I was trying to stray from the same old NJ logo feeling...and actually the word mark I have for the Devils Zone really does show what I was going for and as a stand alone word mark turned out nicely...but just thought I'd post some reasons to my madness as it were...

I, unfortunately, won't be voting...I've been too busy to actually pay attention to either canidates so it would be a very uneducated vote. Besides as most have mentioned its either get screwed by person a or person b....i do think a donkey would hurt less though Anyway all I know about either guy is that Forrester is trying to halt the Newark Arena building for the Devs so that might be enough for me just to go vote Corzine anyway!

Watching the Jets game....the announcers just said they had breaking info on T.O....they then said that he wasn't suspended for todays game after all but was considered inactive....if memory serves me this is the same thing that Tampa Bay did to Keyshawn before they sent him home for the last 12 games of the season....looks like there might be no mo TO in philly....as an avid Cowboys fan all i can muster up is....

Well guys...I know its been a while but here is Lil Islander...I've been doing another project as of late (hopefully I can reveal it sometime this week) also with school and work I've been very busy...anyway I finally got him done...I wanted to stray away from the fisherman logo and I hope everyone likes it...let me know what you think!!!

Thanks again for all the nice things you have to say...it keeps my inspiration up when I tackle what turned out to be tougher than I thought....Anyway on my quest to create a "bruiser buddy" for all the NHL teams I give you the Lil' Sabre... Well guys....here is the next "Bruiser Buddy" (I think that's what I'm gonna call 'em) It's for the Panthers as promised...I have to say I'm pretty pleased with the way this one turned out and I hope you guys are too...Pay close attention to the Panther's logo because I modeled it very closely to that and I think it paid off...notice everything from the coloring to the ears and the tip of the tail as well as the eyes and mouth....all fashioned right off the logo...I especially like what I did with the stick...Anyway i hope you guys appreciate it, it is one of the more detailed ones as well as one of the ones that came very close to the logo the way I wanted it!!! Thanks again and keep the comments coming!!

Well, in my original post I really just intended to make a little Devils guy as a smiley...but I also wanted to make it really good quality so I made it really huge so when I shrank it then the quality would stay the same...anyway I thought the Devils one was cute and then made a little Penguin guy (the Devil had speared him with a hockey stick ) my fiance thought it was too graphic so I made the penguin looked cute and decided to to all the NHL teams in smiley form...so long story short...they are all round because they are all smileys...effectively I can animate them all like I did with the Devil and like this one I did for a guy on another board (he's a Tampa Bay fan) *looks way better under a white background* So, I'm sure no one is really a Lightning fan but feel free to let me know how I did on the animation!! WARNING POSSIBLY CONSIDERED GRAPHIC! * * * * * * * * Here's the one my fiance said was "gross"....I was tired of hearing about Sid the Kid and Sappy Mario so I creatively took out my frustrations...

Well, here is another one...this one turned out to be pretty hard as well...trying to come up with something that actually worked was the main problem but overall I would say he turned out pretty good...let me know what you think! Up next will probably be the Panthers...I'm thinking that instead of just a standard panther I'm going to try to incorporate the team colors a bit more...anyway...here is Lil' Lightning!

Well well well....That was a little harder than I thought It's been a bit but I finally got the Stars one done...so here he is! Thanks again for all the great comments and next up will be Tampa Bay...after that I'm just going to play around probably panthers and then Buffalo...not sure though... Also, Rock, the best advice I can give is to practice practice practice...Graphic Design basically in college consist of every art class you can think of so don't think you can just be good with computers and thats it...we're talking Drawing, Painting, Photography...all of it! Also, don't just stick to one type of computer software for things...not just Photoshop...use Illustrator and get familiar with 3D software too...like Maya. And finally, if Graphic Design is the way she wants to go then make sure she minors or at least takes plenty of business and marketing classes because 85% if not more of Graphic Design has to do with advertising of some sort...other than that...just have fun and make sure its something you love because as you can tell with these...they seem somewhat simple but from brain to paper to computer and finished takes several hours just for one piece!!! Anyway here is Lil' Star...kept with a starry theme but trying to keep "smiley" style in mind and stayed as far away from the uterus as I could...however the mapped out astrology style hockey stick was influenced by it!

Thanks, actually I'm going with the Stars and Tampa Bay next (I'm trying to see how teams without animal mascots will turn out) but then the Panthers won't be too far behind! I got stuck on thinking of a Stars idea that looked cool and during the intermission of the game last night I saw how drab the "Dano's Den" logo (if you can call it that) graphic looked so I cooked something up Let me know what you think but don't worry more "team smileys" are on the way!

Thanks, actually yeah I've considered it...and more than likely probably will. I mean I just started taking classes that actually pertain to my major which is graphic design but I've yet to have any photoshop teaching...just all stuff I taught myself (and some great tutorials at deviant art) But yeah I probably will get a website portfolio out there eventually....Thanks again to all who commented and as requested here is the Lil' Bruin...I went for a bear theme and I know the Jersey isn't near exact but for the angles and everything I had to keep it on the simpler side...hope everyone likes it!!

Thanks for all the kind comments! Stuff like that makes me keep doing what I do! And with the kind remarks I decided to do another...and am thinking of doing the whole NHL...not sure if I am though so let me know if I should and also let me know what you think of Lil Penguin (to be renamed later)

I'd like everyone to meet Lil' Devil (name to be changed later) I created him out of my own little brain and he is done completely from scratch using Photoshop CS2. It took me about 4 hrs total to get every detail done. I'm actually very proud of him...which says alot because I consider myself somewhat of a perfectionist. Anyway..I'm going to be throwing him into some sigs...maybe some wallpaper and what not so if anyone wants a copy of him for something or wants me to put him in anything for ya then just let me know...Anyway let me know what you think!
