I bring up Severson because of the reports that his name was out there last summer. But yeah, if Laine is huge in the playoffs and they have to give him $10 million AAV, a 2019 first as the centerpiece could do it. But that depends on us drafting Hughes or Kakko this year. And with a team full youth defenders (ish, theoretically speaking) for next year, I’m not holding my breath that he won’t finish averaging below 20 minutes a night.
