devilsrule33
I was thinking along the lines that we could all take a team or a few to a team and simulate the 2004-2005 season using whatifsports.com's simulator using last years teams using this years schedule. Could be fun and interesting. I was just reading the article about the Devils winning the Cup and thought it could be fun. We could keep stats and standings and all that stuff. squishyx
hmm but how would we determine who scores and what not. they have a semi-sophisticated random ball generator thingy... i mean i suppose we could write our own generator but it be a lil weird. Devils731
Well if we could figure out a way to play, I'd be in. I say if Bruins wants to play he has to take the Penguins to the playoffs :-) -Scott
devilsrule33
The scores are at random but it could still be fun. WHo knows, there might be som surprises. With no hockey it could work.
squishyx
well, im asking how we would generate the random scores. just using what i know about programming and the little i rememeber about standard deviation, we could use average scores from hockey games. then we could do a basic rating system about a players likelyhood of scoring, and factor that in to the teams scoring percentage. and for goalies we could give them ratings too, and they would be a deterrent to goals scored (duh) and every game we subtract 1 from there ratings to act as fatigue, and if they are rested for a night say 5 pts get restored and... well maybe im thinking tooo far into this.... hrmmm

RowdyFan42
... or have somebody buy FHLSim ($25).
Devils731
FHLsim is great. I played in a league that disbanded for a couple of season. I really enjoyed it because there wasn't just one way to win, you could win with a bunch of different styles. -Scott
