smelly
have all but certainly played their last games in a Devils uniform. Perhaps the impending lockout, and likely cancellation of the season, was why Nieder was so wistful in his Norris acceptance speech last spring. A sad day. njdevils_info
Really? I don't think so. But I'm not sure, does the arbitrated value for Nieds carry over if the season was cancelled?
devilsadvoc8
I see what you are saying but with a cap, you can rule out a big contract from Detroit or the ranger$. Now as for competing with him going home? I still think the devs would offer him more money. We'll see. Assuming a cba is put in for next season, I think that we'll take a temporary hit but then the genius of Lou will right the ship. Kool-aid anyone? Weekes Head
Goodbye, Scott Stevens.
MantaRay
Nieds is an idiot. He should have accepted Lou's offer when he had the chance. With a salary cap becoming a reality he will be lucky if he gets half that contract now. As far as Stevens, I think this extended break actually helps him for one more Cup. El Diablo
As far as Stevens, I think this extended break actually helps him for one more Cup. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I agree that the break might indeed give him a recharge and hunger to go out on his terms. devilsrule33
Niedermayer I am not so sure about. In an interview I saw with him it seemed as much as he loved winning in New Jersey it seemed a bit that he wanted to play somewhere else. njdevils783
Isnt it possible that if we get a hard cap re-signing nieds may become a little bit easier considering he cant go for the big money
