That is one eclectic mix there Bulletproof. I dig it.

I have to say, my iPod has been in fine form for the last few days. Much of time, I can't get past five songs without skipping but lately, it's been doing quite well!

That reminds me of a fine car game my brother and I played driving back and forth to Cape Cod last year. It's great for extremely long car rides, but can be adapted for anything. The rules are thus:

1) Put the iPod on shuffle

2) Every block of 10 songs you get through without skipping is considered a "round"

3) For every round you get through, you get an increasing number of points.

1st round of 10 - 1 point

2nd round of 10 - 2 points

3rd round of 10 - 3 points

4th round of 10 - 4 points

And so on...

4) If you skip a song, at any point, the game ends and you get the points you've accrued to that point.

The idea is that if you're on song 35 of the game and you come across a song you just don't want to listen to, you have to decide whether to suffer through it for the points or skip. At that point, you would have 7 points and only 5 more songs would give you an additional 4, so it becomes a game of attrition at that point.

It's a great game if you have a large iPod library and it's great way to listen to songs you would normally skip, thereby making the most of your huge library. We would actually keep the game going when we got in and out of the car and let it run for days straight if need be. You can also do this one your own...just leave the iPod on shuffle and see how hard it is to not skip a song when shuffling!

Anywho, just thought I'd share! :-D

It is almost IMPOSSIBLE for me not to skip music these days, for two reasons:

1) I'm musically ADD

2) I've got a lot of music on there specifically for Amanda, stuff I don't care for (95% of the time we agree on music, but then she asks me to download something ridiculous like Journey or I Gotta Feeling... )

Lately I find myself listening to my "Recently Played" playlist more and more often. Which just makes it so the same 250 or so songs come up over and over. I should probably get out of that habit.

A damn fine list too. Is that Sense Field song a cover of The Cure?

Nah, original. For a good 3 or 4 years, Sense Field was my favorite band. Crappy that they broke up, but their last album showed why they probably needed to... it strove to be mainstream when that was never going to be their strength. It had its moments to be sure. The album "Love Song" is off of, "Tonight and Forever," is definitely still one of my all-time favorites. Tough call between that and "Building" as their best albums; the former is so different, the latter is what made them more relevant to the scene - and the album that introduced me to them.

All I ever knew of Sense Field was probably off that mainstream-y album, the song "Beatles Song," which I really liked. But I first heard it on one of those crappy pop/adult alternative Muzak CDs at work, hence why I assume it's from the last album.

And since I'm here anyway:

1. Cracker - Whole Lotta Trouble

2. fvck Buttons - Sweet Love For Planet Earth

3. Delta Spirit - Trashcan

4. Oleander - I Walk Alone

5. Tunde Adebimpe - All Ye

11. dredg - Ireland

12. TV On The Radio - Poppy (Live in Toronto 4.14.04)

13. The Flaming Lips - Seven Nation Army (White Stripes cover)

14. Ratatat - Mirando

15. Oasis - Don't Look Back In Anger

16. The Cardigans - Lovefool

17. Blur - Parklife

18. The Strokes - Juicebox

19. Cage The Elephant - Ain't No Rest For The Wicked

20. Ours - Murder

Actually, that's a song on the album I really like, "Tonight and Forever." Their last album really wasn't as bad as I'm making it out to be, but they tried really hard to get airplay for their single, "Burn," and it just never took off. But every other day was an email asking fans to vote for it on some website or another, or as part of some poll, etc. It was pretty clear that if the song took off they'd be good to go, and if not, the future wasn't looking too bright.

Lead singer joined Further Seems Forever after the band broke up, but I never found their sound as interesting. Maybe it's time I go back and revisit...
