devilsrule33
From TSN: Washington Capitals forward Donald Brashear was suspended for a total of six games by the National Hockey League for two separate incidents in Game 6 against the New York Rangers.Brashear had a hearing on Monday to discuss his exchange with New York's Colton Orr in the warm-up prior to the game and his late hit on Rangers forward Blair Betts in the first period. Brashear got one game for the incident with Orr and five additional games for his hit on Betts. The Rangers announced on Monday that Betts suffered a broken orbital bone as a result of the hit and is out indefinitely. "Brashear delivered a shoulder hit to an unsuspecting player," said Senior Executive Vice President of Hockey Operations Colin Campbell in a release. "It is also my opinion that the hit was delivered late and targeted the head of his opponent, causing significant injury." Complete bullsh!t. Another perfect example showing that Campbell only looks at the player when deciding a suspension. He lets Cammalleri go for a more vicious elbow. This is the exact same kid of hit Stevens gave to Kariya in 2003 where an unsuspecting player is nailed after giving up the puck. If this is Ovechkin, there isn't a suspension. This is the same guy who gave Pronger 1 game for elbowing McAmmond way after he had given up the puck in the Finals, and that was after he almost killed Holmstrom earlier in the playoffs. A 6 game penalty in the playoffs, is like a 20 game suspension in the season. - - - Now a few funny videos from the Rangers media scrum today. First Torts and Brooks get into it again. http://watch.tsn.ca/featured/#clip165901 And lastly, a pretty funny video of Torts talking about the Rangers chances tomorrow and asking the media what their chances are. http://watch.tsn.ca/featured/#clip165848

Random Poster
don't even joke-- that hit was dirty and brashear deserved every second of the suspension-- i don't care if that hit was on Avery, it's still a dick thing to do. If someone ever laid out Avery like that, we'd all have a new favorite non-Devils player. His likeness should then be included in the site's banner next to Brodeur, Elias and Parise.
