insanity_gallops
Was looking at this article to find out how Franzen's doing (key member of my fantasy hockey team), and there's a bit at the end that caught my eye. http://www.mlive.com/redwings/index.ssf/2010/10/red_wings_johan_franzen_feelin.html If Franzen can't play, the Red Wings likely will be one player short against the Coyotes (9 p.m., FSN). Holland said the club is "capped out.'' It doesn't have the salary-cap space to recall a player from the Grand Rapids Griffins without putting someone on long-term injured reserve (minimum 10 games and 24 days) and Holland said he is not prepared to do that since they don't know if any of their players will be out that long. Unless Franzen makes a quick recovery, the Red Wings will dress 11 forwards and six defensemen against Phoenix. It's not nearly to the same extent faced by the Devils, but they'd be in a similar situation. Just wanted this up as an FYI/"hmm..." post. CarpathianForest
Yeah but it's okay because it's the Red Wings and a good chunk of reporters predict them to be in the Stanley Cup. Oh, and the Red Wings have a huge following unlike the Devils who just have a handful of fans.
