Career depth players and bangers can do a better job than him as a bottom six and Gomez certainly is not good enough to be a top 6 either. Enjoy fishing for the rest of the life.

Nash is overrated. Rags still rely heavily on their D and Queen. Any good teams will make Nash plays like Bertuzzi (defensive liability).

I think Lou should stop going after FAs. We have depth and talent on our top 6 with Kovy, Elias, Clarkson, Zajac, Zubrus, and Henrique. We have JJ and Tedenby on our projected third line and a marvelous fourth line. Just wait and see Lou acquire some depth for our team at the deadline for our next playoff run. (Remember Penguins lost Hossa but won the Cup.). Sure Doan and Semin will add scoring depth on our team, but if their price and heart do not belong to NJ, fine by me.

Weber, Suter and Rinne couldn't stop a Phoenix team and I assume He won't make a huge difference in Philly during the playoffs, especially Rinne is a better goalie than Bryz. Take the picks, Poile.

Doan is a solid veteran but 7.5M for 4 years is ridiculous. Oh, and he is 35 already. I hope Shero is that genius.

Will semin become another Kozlov or Mogilny (first stint)?? This is what I worry about. I would say offer him couple years (3-4M range) and see whether he deserves more money.

We will see. Most big name free agents left the Devils pretty much have their overall production declined with the exception of perhaps Rafalski and Scott Niedermayer. Gomez, Holik, Malakhov, Gionta, Mogilny,( notice most of them are forwards) etc all get critized for the wrong reasons during long stretches.

This is sad, but the Devils can use it as a motivation to get the Cup.
