  1. I have an LA Kings 1993 Stanley Cup Champions hat which I bought at the old Starter outlet store in New Haven.
  2. From previous experience in other arena suites you not only have a fee to rent it, you also have the ticket cost, and the food and drink cost seperate. Most arenas upcharge food and drinks (hard & soft) even more obscenely in the boxes than in the rest of the arena to take advantage of coporate write-offs.
  3. Ellias to English dictionary during interview: "Look at Johnny Oduya today!" = "HOLY sh!t ODUYA ISN'T SUCKING TONIGHT!"
  4. 5-7, what the hell is wrong with this PP? There's make-up call #1.
  5. You have to figure that the next Devil that breathes on a Flyer is going to draw a penalty. This keeps up which Devil will Downie attempt to take a run at in the 3rd?
  6. Oduya thinks he's Paul Coffey. Ellias with the easiest goal of his career. 4-2 NJ
  7. Tsongas Arena is a white elephant and an AHL team in Lowell will never do well in the saturated hockey marketplace that is Boston. Much of the Lock Monsters draw came from the Lower Merrimack Valley of New Hampshire until Manchester built a larger and better arena 20 miles up the road. NH fans tend to be very provincial when they have a "NH" team to root for that doesn't impinge on their traditional major pro-sports rooting interests (IE: Red Sox, Pats, Bruins, etc.) so fans in Nashua would much rather support Manchester in minor league sports than Lowell eventhough Lowell is 10 miles closer. Demographically the city of Lowell isn't a hockey city and needs support from Billerica, Chelmsford, Tyingsboro, and other towns to make it work. It is true that Lowell was much worse than it is today. It isn't Lawrence, but there still isn't any reason to go there on a cold winter night to see minor league hockey. Another small New England AHL city probably on its last leg is Springfield which has many of the same problems that Lowell has.
  8. The Patriots ripped the heart out of San Diego where SD leaves it the most their aggressiveness and machismo. SD talked crap the whole game, even broke NFL pregame rules coming out of the locker room late and running into the Pats who were running on the field. In the middle of it a SD offensive lineman was talking smack at Seymour which was commical. With Brady having a bad game, rumor is he had the flu, the Patriots went to ball-control smash-mouth football sprinkled in with some Faulk dump-offs and turned a mediocre-but-in-control offensive game into a line-of-scrimmage whipping. Patriots offense had the ball only 4 times in the second half, including 3 drives +4:00. Two of those drives ended in the red zone (1- Brady pick; 2- kneel down) and another ended with the Welker TD. The Chargers chatty defense had their chance but came-up as mental midgets when the chips were down. Merriman was a ghost and proved again he's the product of hype and Ray Lewis-esque inflated tackle totals. As what I thought Sproles was the one player that gave the Patriots the most problems, but Belichek adjusted sending Harrison and Seau in to blitz forcing Sproles to block instead of floating out into the flat. Tomlinson continues to remind us he's only a fantasy HOFer. The real HOFer "LT" played in East Rutheford in the 80's & 90's. Even if he was hurt he just sat on the bench and sulked for the rest of the game when he could have been on the sidelines coaching-up Turner and Sproles. It will be an interesting Super Bowl as New York and Boston face-off for the first time. There isn't the hatred between the Giants and Pats as there is Red Sox-Yankees. Obviously playing once every 4 years, plus the Belichek connection (most Giants fans still think he should have taken over in 91 instead of Ray Handley) and, the Parcells connection (most Giants fans became rooters of the Pats in the mid-90's) puts a crimp in any traditional "rivalry" so that's saved for the Jets and their "show your hooters" jealous fans.
  9. From today's Boston Herald: http://www.bostonherald.com/news/regional/...&position=0 Looks like the deeper the press is digging the better Moss's side is looking.
  10. Funny that the jersey the 14 year old girl was wearing a NFLPPK Patriots-style jersey given to her to wear by the NFL. It wasn't even like she was wearing a regular Patriots Tom Brady jersey. Interesting response from Moss's people on the Florida situation: http://www.boston.com/sports/football/patr...for_randy_moss/ And as part of the pre-Durham playbook we now have groups saying Moss should be suspended by the NFL: http://www.bostonherald.com/news/regional/...ticleid=1067325 If Moss gets exhonerated (and still there hasn't been criminal charges filed) it only hurts these groups' credibility and cause further when they cry wolf at every single accusation.
  11. Front page of the New York Post should be the look Jerry Jones had on the sidelines right after the interception. Listening to the radio stations in Philly and DC are priceless. The general feeling is, "I feel dirty rooting for and being happy that the Giants won... but not that dirty... bwahahaha Cowboys!"
  12. October 31, 1987 Edmonton @ New Jersey, I just turned 11 years old and I convinced my old man to take me to see Gretzky, Messier, Kurri, etc. play the red & green "Mickey Mouse" Devils. The goaltending match-up was Alain Chevrier vs. Grant Fuhr. The Devils won 6-5 with Doug Sullivan scoring 2 goals and I was hooked. Most memorible memories of that game: -the crowd of 15Kish at the Swamp booing Gretz everytime he touched the puck -a group of firemen getting a "Tastes great/Less filling" chant going in the whole arena -a totally random fight in the stands between some guy wearing a Habs jersey and an Oilers fan. I ended up going to 3 games total that season seeing the Devils beat Chicago and lose to Calgary. They then went on to the Cinderella playoff run later that season. Since then I've seen the Devils play at MSG, Hartford, Boston, Washington, Pittsburgh, Montreal, and Carolina. I've also attended non-Devils NHL games in Philly, Tampa, and Uniondale.
  13. You have to remember that Pittsburgh's new arena will draw the ASG quickly because of El Syd. In the East I bet Washington gets the ASG before Newark gets it. Either Edmonton, Calgary, Chicago, or St. Louis will get the western entry.
  14. 3-0 lead the Flyers start gooning it up??? nahhhhhhhhh
  15. Patty with #3 on the PP. He's played a heck of a game tonight which started with him drilling Lupol for putting the puck behind Brodeur after the whistle.
  16. Holy make-up calls Batman! Friaser is covering up penalties for Jeanette's reffing incompitence with really lame make-up calls.
  17. brutal rebound. not that weekes has had any help on the other end. kinda happy i didn't shell out $65 for a ticket tonight.
  18. Who's calling the plays for Pittsburgh? Andy Reid? Down 3 TD's with 6:50 left they're running this drive like its the middle of the 1st quarter.
  19. Why do I get the feeling that after a week of: "Pittsburgh's too physical." "Baltimore and Philly have shown the rest of the world the blueprint." "The Patriots are beat-up." "The Patriots only won because the refs screwed the Ravens." that the final score will be something to the tune of 35-10 Patriots?
