just got back from the game. just thought id let everyone know that they had a new announcer at prudential tonight and he said the goal was from "day-nis" zubrus from "brad" rolston. It was so painful to hear
So theDevils are playing the flyers tonight. Anyone got any predictions. such as the score or the rosters or line for 2nite, or the stand out player 2nite.
Im hoping for another strong bergfors performance and hopefully ill get to se zz pops play 2nite.
wen we first got him i thought it was a really good signing. just looking at his #s on tampa he looked pretty good. and i thought he was really solid the other night against the rangers. he had several good defensive plays and looked good on the point with rolston. hopefully he can take either greene or salvadors spot.
also i was listenin to nhl radio on XM and they were rating GMs and they said Glen Sather has got a bunch of problems come next off season since they will have about 50m committed to the cap with 5-6 players becoming RFA's or UFA's. With the cap goin down already next year and Marc Staal deff getting a raise the Rangers will most likely have to dump one of their big contracts like they did with Gomez.
If the players he gets are one 1 year contracts i say go for it. They will be off the cap come free agency next year giving us the opportunity to re-sign Martin, and without Shanny on the roster rite now this team does not look very good. I think just one player at a 1 year deal could fix our depth problem.
Great sign by Lou. Weekes was horrible. Danis is not only reliable but hes got potential too. And for him to sign so low is great to keep the cap space open
I think Lang would be a decent pick up, however i feel like Lou is going to do the trade route and that means that we will most likely be getting a 3rd line center out of the deal. I think now with getting Cory Murphy that Salvador is a player that looks like a good trade option. Hes getting overpaid in my opinion and Murphy looks like he can put up some points (15 pts in 25 gms last season) I think Zubrus will still be the second line center. Even tho i would like them to get a more reliable center. Lou said he wants to get Clarkson more ice time which i think is a good idea. Clarkson had nearly 20 goals last year playing on different lines constantly and played with Mike Rupp and Bobby Holik. If he played a role on a second line i could see him getting 25+ goals. As far as lines go i see:
1.) Parise Zajac Langenbrunner
2.) Elias Zubrus Clarkson (Maybe Bergfors)
3.) Rolston ? Bergfors (or clarkson)
4.) Pandolfo Pelley Pikkarainen
And if we get Shanny He could also take one of those wing spots.
Morrison if he signs cheap.
Lang would be a good addition.
Rob Neids would fill Maddens spot nicely.
(didnt see his name on the list, but heard his name some the other day) Kotalik, 3rd line player for depth and good in shootout

This is not the same article that says nj gave 4 and ny gave 3. I couldnt find that one at the moment, but this article says the both gave 3. And i think that we can still get Koivu because i dont see Zajac getting more than 3 mil (which is about wat i expected him to sign for)
From what I have heard the devils have given him the best offer length wise. I heard the rangers offered 3 years and the devils 4 years. I think there's a good chance we can get him. Hope we do
I think getting Koivu would help alot. Mostly cause he would most likely be centering Elias and Elias has not had a good playmaking center since Gomez. Even without a good playmaker Elias has put up good points. I think Koivu would solidify the top 2 lines very well.
