There's one thing we both have in common, Derek...... We both miss Bill Parcells.....well, maybe I'm not being fair to Fassel, he's had some success.

Derek, you look at things differently than I do when it comes to the Jets. They should have lost both the Browns and Chiefs games and they did, because they are a bad, poorly coached football team that can't make defensive adjustments. I am enjoying the emergence of Chad Pennington though. The Jets were a badly coached football team last year, too, and made the playoffs because John Hall made a huge field goal and the team hardly turned over the ball. KingDevil, you have a few screws loose. LOL!

Hasan, I never thought the Jets would snap out of it after three straight blowouts. LMAO!

    Ain't THAT the truth!

Zam, those were some good goals though, huh, especially that tip-in by Jeff O'Neill? Pretty play.

HellonIce, you have a good point. We may be in a position where we have to allow some of the goal-scoring prospects like Gionta and Berglund to develop, just like it took time for Sykora and Elias to grow from 1996-1999.

MaddDog, not once this year have I been angry because the team didn't come to play. It's only been eight games, but I hope they continue to bust their behinds

The only thing that's making me crazy right now is the power play. Specifically, I don't think the players are doing a very good job of getting themselves in a position to receive a pass and shoot. There's a lot of passes in a player's skates and to a player's backhand. I'm sure most will agree that it's painful to watch. The effort is there though IMO. The team played hard last night, I thought.
  9. Rivalry game. Carolina Hurricanes. That's a good one. My blood doesn't exactly boil at the mention of Carolina. It is getting frustrating not beating Kevin Weekes, but this is no rivalry game.
  10. NJay, you really don't believe that, do you?
  11. Screw Shane Doan, get me Claude! LOL!
  12. He's made something of himself, that Darcy Tucker. If Mike Danton followed those career footsteps, I'd be happy.
  13. Yeah, Stardew, that went right over my head since I don't watch much sci-fi. LOL! Thanks for the explanation.
  14. #32, are you married? LMAO! It doesn't sound like it.
  15. Yeah, Shane Doan is good. The point is that he's gonna cost NJ, or any other team, good players. Say what you want about Valeri Kamensky, but that move was well worth the risk because there was no risk. It didn't work out, so what, the Devils gave up very, very little. I don't even recall what the Devils gave up for Shawn Chambers and Neal Broten, but it wasn't much. Anyway, the point is that sometimes the small trade can pay off. How about this idea: Trading for Dave Andreychuk to help our power play? I KNOW that won't cost much.
  16. Sometimes the "non-impact" players make significant contributions, guys like Shawn Chambers and Vladimir Malakhov. How about Bob Corkum, too?
  17. I'm into acquiring Steve Heinze because he won't cost much and is a decent second or third line player with some offensive ability. That's worth a chance. Valeri Bure is good, but I don't want his baggage.
  18. Good call Pepperkorn and thank you, nieds fan!
  19. I think we nied some more offensive production from our vaunted defensemen. We can't dew without it. Truski or falski?
  20. Good to hear that Berglund is playing well. Hopefully, it'll push the guys in NJ to keep playing well. It's nice to have enough depth to create some in-house competition for jobs.....just as long as players don't go whining to the press about it. I'm not just talking about Danton. Daneyko did the same thing last year, maybe not in such an abrasive way as Danton, but he did it all the same.
  21. MaddDog, I think Ranger fans call it "Rangeritiis."
  22. Good teams win one-goal games. That's why the early-season performance is a VERY good sign. I'll have to put myself in the "I'm pumped" category. I'm really pumped about Brodeur, who's playing extremely well so far. Maybe this will be his year for the Vezina? I sure hope so.
  23. I know it's a liitle late in this post, but great line, LetsGoDevils. Falling on a wallet that fat could cause a hip flexor. LMAO! Gotta give Bobby credit for one thing
  24. Yeah, Jay was a scorer in college. LOL!
