Oh wonderful I had to get cute and pick up Sauve in the fantasy league cause this 'looked' like a cheap win and my Devil goalie hasn't been doing too well lately. That's the last time I do that this year, now I'm just gonna stick with the Devil goalie(s?) come hell or high water even if Marty plays the next 15 games and gives up 3 goals a game sammy, Sauve was actually 7-4-3...I think he was unbeaten in his last 7 starts too. So much for that too.

Well people did want to see Lawrence Frank go to 10-0 and set an NBA record for best start to an NBA career It is funny that attendance actually has gone UP for the Nets since the move announcement, then again it's probably a combo of they'd better get to games now before the move and the fact that the team's winning again. Well that's what happens when you a team scores so many PP goals...Zidlicky had the five assists and was a -2 But my team's over a plus 20 so I can live with that so long as he keeps getting me those points

I thought being yappy was an attribute in your eyes considering you love Roy and Roenick and they are/were more yappy than Marty

I just saw that today, heh...it reminds me of a question I heard on a sports show a while back, someone asked with all the big goalies taking up so much space in nets now, why doesn't an NHL team just get a sumo wrestler to play goal

Hmmm...even with more than one right answer I might have to change my answer to #3 anyway, I doubted I was right on that one to start with. Maybe this one will be right though cause I have a semi-decent guess.

If we have two guesses for one question and one is right, will you count the one or will both be thrown out? I don't think anyone will have ten guesses for these, but there are a couple I'm tempted to go two ways with. Of course I probably don't really know any of them except for maybe two (I'd better get a couple of these guesses right though since I've spent a half-hour or so mulling on this one)

It's not just the puckhandling gaffes; Marty's given up EIGHTEEN goals in six games...it's really time for him to sit I don't care if they have to dust off Terreri and play HIM

At this point it's almost as if Lou's intentionally avoiding making a trade for a scoring forward because everyone and their brother says we need a scoring forward

I have to admit until I read the rest of this thread today, I started thinking back to a thread a few days ago where Sue got a little testy that Stevens at first said he was symptom free then he says he's got symptoms...if you really wanted to get crazy and put A and B together, I couldn't help but think maybe this had something to do with that But it seems now that the way HOI worded the original post wasn't quite what he meant, since he made it sound like Stevens was ready to come back but was sitting out till Lou fired Burns, now apparently the deal is he isn't quite ready to come back but is upset. I think that's more feasible than the original rumor. I also think it's possible maybe Burns wanted Stevens with the team for moral support and not neccesarily on the ice, since Stevens is not currently traveling with the team or anything...is that possible HOI or am I just hoping to read too much into it? I'd like to believe that Burns isn't nuts enough to question Stevens' heart after last year especially but I HAVE seen stranger things in sports. So much $hit goes on that we really don't know about (and in some cases, don't want to know about) so I wouldn't dismiss something 'like' this happening out of hand, in any case. Yeah, this is off the wall at face value...but in some ways that makes me think it has some legs cause this is too much of an out-there story to be a complete fabrication. On the other hand I don't want to believe it either and I'm holding out hope that it isn't nearly as bad as it seemed in the original post.

Carp's coaching experience is as follows: 2+ years, assistant, AHL 1 year, head coach, AHL, .250 winning percentage 1 and a half years + 2 playoffs, assistant, NHL I don't think he's ready to lead the Devils yet. If Burns departs midseason, Robinson will be his replacement. Book it. I do NOT in ANY circumstance want to see Carps as a head coach. I loved him as a player but the guy hasn't been able to teach faceoff wins for crying out loud (his specialty) and he wasn't all that great in Albany as a head coach. Tri makes a point about Lou not wanting to side with the inmates which is why nothing's been done yet but this would be a 'special' case if true, and he could be pulling a Rod Thorn and just waiting for the optimum time to do something. It might not be this year, though.

What did you expect them to hire Larry as the head coach this minute? I agree with the last part though...the Cup thing might be the only thing that saves Burns if this is true. If Lou DOES fire him there'd better be something of an explanation or he's going to be thought of like Steinbrenner-lite. Has any head coach in any sport been fired the year after winning a championship come to think of it? Billy Martin and that's the only one I can come up with. I suppose we'll find out if any major media publications read this board soon, if they do this rumor will be out there soon enough

Well Keenan pulled similar s%it with GRETZKY so it is possible unfortunately. (okay not THAT similar but he did embarass him publicly after a bad playoff game, which helped hasten his departure from St. Louis) Burns has been a little more testy than usual lately - at least with the media - like with that stupid 'You guys would love to see me hang myself' quote.

Hell I'd rather see Constantine Part II than Robbie Part II, but something's wrong with that guy that isn't apparent to most of us. I mean he's been fired from three jobs within a year and a half including the Sharks after taking them to the playoffs twice as an expansion team.

I love(d) Burnsie but if this is true, I will also say please bring back Larry. The number one thing you don't do in the organization is screw around with Lou. A VERY close second is screwing around with Stevens. I've never known HOI to post rumors for the sake of it...obviously he can't reveal anything about the source though the source would be fired and blacklisted by Lou Burnsie can be a p-ick but I never thought he was Keenan-like till now. The timing of Robbie coming back is interesting but frankly I'd MUCH MUCH rather see Larry Part II than Robbie Part II.

Yeah I'm pretty sure they at least invited him for a tryout...George does have a fascination with collecting '86 Mets after all with Doc, Darryl, and Mazilli on the coaching staff. He even tried to hire Carter in some capacity till the Mets fortunately stepped up and offered him a job in the organization.

Maybe you should have taken part in your own contest then I knew this could very well happen lol...I wish I could be more competitive, but hockey was pretty much the last sport I got into, even sports like baseball and basketball which I don't really watch much anymore I probably know more trivia there than hockey cause I got into them at a younger age. I'm still kind of pleased with where I am though even considering I should have had a couple more questions. I did guess a couple right though so it about evens up.
