Dadds3424
http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/preview2009/team?page=nhlpre09/njd 3. The Elias quandary When we talked to Lamoriello at the time of the Lemaire hiring this offseason, he mentioned captain Patrik Elias as one of the players who would need to have a better season. Well, Elias, the franchise leader in points, is already battling the injury bug that has plagued him since the lockout and is out three to six weeks after having surgery to correct a groin problem. That's not good for Elias, who finished second in team scoring behind Zach Parise with 78 points last season. Right now, look for Dainius Zubrus to fill in as the Devils' second-line center. That's not particularly good news.

MantaRay
Another example of why ESPN is such a joke when it comes to hockey.

pattyelias
It was a Scott Burnside article. That guy thinks Stephane Richer was the Devils leading scorer last season.

DevilNurn
9. A scheduling noteTalk about sweet. The Devils enjoy a three-week period from late November through the week before Christmas when they will play nine of 10 games at home. Their only road trip is a relatively short jaunt to Buffalo. That's assuming, of course, that you think playing nine of 10 in Newark is a bonus. Seriously, the press has to get over the fact that the arena is in Newark now. Third year. It's done. It's safe. Jeez.
Pepperkorn
Nurn that involves entirely too much thought and creativity for these mental lightweights. It's all most these guys can do to keep their head around hockey in general -- to add teams and players into the mix is more than their wee minds can handle. Now you expect them to come up with new and original zingers against teams? (and I've gone and downloaded Hibbings famous... Gary Puckett... someone close my itunes account PRONTO!)
