CHICO IS GOD
Look, no one knows if this was really a "mistake" or when he started to use the bats. So don't take away all of his accomplishments, I understand you may not respect him but he still did what he did in 98(?)
'7'
well, those bats do need to be probed. But I wasn't serious about sawing them in half. I like Sosa as a player, I wish he was in the Mets outfield
CHICO IS GOD
Piazza in the 3 hole and Sosa hitting clean up. Looks good to me.
NJDevs4978
I was sad when I heard this cause I'm definitely a big Sammy fan. The ESPN article makes me feel a little better. But now that he's been red flagged and is gonna be checked for corked bats the rest of the season Sosa needs to have one of his typical 50+ HR years now or there'll always be suspicion that his numbers are partially due to that. David Puddy
I think his excuse is plausible. If I were in his position, I'd pull out the corked bat for home run derbies, exhibitions, etc.
David Puddy
Seventy-six Sosa bats found to be clean
Zamode
Interesting....even as he is seemingly presented as innocent here (I'm not going to judge), I think it might take some time for this to go away for him. Some fans hold grudges. Too bad, the whole thing.
CHICO IS GOD
Anyone else see them cut up the 498th homer bat?
Zamode
How many were cut and how many were X-rayed?
CHICO IS GOD
The 76 were x-rayed (I think) but they cut up the bat that he hit #498 with on National TV.
Zamode
they cut up the bat that he hit #498 with on National TV. Well that's some dramatic PR bullsh!t, wouldn't you say?

SBT
8 games!!! No matter. He appealed immediately. And thus, will play in tomorrow's battle vs. Clemens.
CHICO IS GOD
The same battle that Clemens will win easily by striking out Slammin Sammy
SBT
When Clemens gets inducted into the Hall of Fame, he will be wearing a BOSTON cap. Never forget.
CHICO IS GOD
He will be forced to, you know he wants to walk in wearing the Pinstripes
SBT
He will be forced to, you know he wants to walk in wearing the Pinstripes Psycho Roger can choose for himself. Even he realizes that his best years were spent in BOSTON. The SBT only hopes that pyscho Rog doesn't throw a fastball at Sammy's head. Or a shattered bat. Dr. Death
I am very dissapointed at Sosa. He knows better. This is a dark day in baseball especially when you got lot of people look up to him especially Latin Americans. His reptuation is going to take a hit here. Too bad for him.
