Motorcity Devil

Greene and Brookbank should not be out together - especially with one minute to play. I'm all for a coach giving players good opportunities to develop, but this is starting to get out of hand. Greene and Brookbank shouldn't be seen together after they get off the bus. Seriously.

While I hope the Devils win tonight, I sincerely hope that they just come out and play relaxed. I miss the confidence they displayed in January and February. I think they are just too uptight and it's leading to silly mental errors. This is where the leadership comes in - Marty, Jamie, Sarge, Pando, Mad-dog - show us the way! LGD

Whatever? The Devils have sucked on so many levels, I don't feel like arguing which side of the red line is a bigger issue. 3rd period leads blown in several games = bad news.

We blew a 3 goal lead, and the Devils generate all of their offense from the transition game. when our forwards chase the puck in our own zone, our break out falls apart and we don't generate good offense. Yes, our TEAM defense has been piss poor the past few weeks - especially tonight.

Being from Detroit, I am used to the Lion's snatching defeat from the jaws of victory on a daily basis. It's just so sad watching the Devils do the same. Glad they won tonight, but our team defense is really bad right now. I hope we can get it together in the next 4 games. Obviously this is a step in the right direction - with any luck we can stay in 4th or 6th.

I think that the Devils are getting a dose of reality here. Chico was saying how the Devil's coaching staff has tried everything to break the drought, but I say you can't perfume a pig. this is the Devil's offense we should have expected all year. just be glad they are only making us sit through like 2 or 3 weeks of it. I hope we can find some goal scoring in the playoffs.

I have never seen a streak of bad luck like this one... Fleury dives and gets bailed out by the ref, who had a terrible angle on the play. What's worse is all of our guys are passing or taking to perfect of a shot. We are only going to score ugly, so start shooting at defenseman's skates and charge the net. This has almost been painful to watch the last 2 weeks.

I just realized that all we have managed to score in the last 100 minutes of hockey is a bullsh!t prayer by Gio (still amazing, but he couldn't do that again if you gave him a large bucket off balls). I hope it gets better with Elias.

There was that implosion of the hospital across from the stadium, were the Devil's hearts in there? I still can't believe this is the same team was saw in Jan / Feb. Hopefully, they will all remember how this feels so they can never go back to this again in the playoffs. Geez, I hope we make the playoffs.

I'm glad that there were no PP goals, this was a poorly officiated period. Pando's call was terrible, and then Fleury had a blatent trip and there was no call. I can't figure out the NHL officials. Between last night's display, and the first period today - I have little hope that the play-offs will be any better. On the positive side, the Devils look ready to play tonight.

Marty looks better than ever, I think the play-offs will be even better. Sutter has the right demeanor for this team. No morning skates has a lot to do with Marty's recent play. He's being treated like the vetran he is, and doesn't seem tired like he did last year down the stretch. I also think the age thing gets blown out of proportion. Injuries, and fitness are handled a lot different in 2008 then they were in 1958, or any time since. Players at 35 or 36 are not like they were in the past. Barring injury, I bet Marty can play at least 7 or 8 more years.

Pretty good night for the Devils... Rags destroyed the Pens, and St Louis squeaked one out in a SO. The Pens looked like crap. I think the Devils will get off the schnide tomorrow. Things are looking up!

Can't cheer for the Rags, but I really would like some space between Pittsburg and the Devs. I just hope we don't get a tie - 3 point games suck donkey balls!

I'd take Madden over Holik anyday. This would have been a good trade for the Devils, especially if we didn't have to give up much else. It would be a shame to see Madden play for another team, but business is business. I would love to see the Devils make a play for Ryan Kessler in Vancouver. He is a younger version of Maddog that would probably come cheaper than Fisher.

I think he's a top 30 defenseman, but I wonder what people think he will ever top out at... Given that he's young, I think he could end up being a top 10 defenseman - but I did not factor this into his present rank of top 30. I was fortunate enough to attend the Blackhawks vs Calgary game yesterday, and I can say he would have been better than the following household names - Vandermeer Keith Regehr Aucoin Sopel and Seabrook There was one guy I would love to see in a Devil's uniform and that's Phaneuf. I would take him over Martin, but that was about it. Aucoin and Sopel looked old and inept. Duncan Keith and Brent Seabrook are highly over-rated. I wouldn't mind getting Wiesnewski though, he would be cheap and effective. One of the few guys with a positive +/- and he plays both powerplay and pk.

You're right... I apologize for not speaking more clearly. Luongo is pretty good though.

There's only a few goalies on that list that I absolutely would NOT want to have... Turdco is one of them - he's a douche bag, and almost worthless in the playoffs. I also think that Price is going to find the learning curve at some point as well. Nabakov and Kiprusoff are both too streaky! Luongo is my top pick. Some day, he'll be Marty's successor as best in the league.

Good first by the Devils. Marty is looking ready for the playoffs! It's good to see Zubs finding the net, too. The Devil's back-up announcer, Steve C might be the most annoying on-air personality in some time. He has some really annoying habits, like calling the Avalanche the "Lanche"... Dude shut-up all ready!
