  1. I don't like that his agent is involved either, Zamode. It's bush league.
  2. I stole this topic from the Rangers cafe, but I thought it would be fun here, considering the whole Holik soap opera and more recently, the Danton stuff. It's a tough vote for me, but I'm going with Bill Guerin, who may be a top player now, but frustrated the hell out of me when he was here. The holdout, the costly crease violation in the 1997 playoffs, his inability to fulfill his potential in NJ......I was glad to see him go. It was close between Guerin and one other player, who I'm SURE will be mentioned by someone.
  3. He's got some growing up to do, no question, MaddDog. I'd like to see him put a lid on the bitching because it won't help his career.
  4. MaddDog has a good point. It wasn't many years ago that we thought Elias was hopeless because he couldn't score. Deep down inside I think a move will eventually have to be made, but I am resolved to show more patience. B)
  5. GetReal, why dump a guy who's playing well? I'm with you, the kid has a lot of growing up to do, but he definitely has a right to be perturbed in my book...I don't care if he's a rookie, he's doing a good job in his role....a role no one else is playing.
  6. Chort, I agree that we're probably gonna need some outside help. I hope not, but my hoping won't solve the problems on offense! Even if we get some outside help, Jeff Friesen has to score goals. It'd be nice if our defense was a little more productive, too. The Devs have two PP goals.
  7. I think those of you calling for the Devils to get rid of Mike Danton should think twice. The kid was out of line bitching to the press about the scratch. But he's right not to be happy about it. He's got fire, he's a competitor and adds spice to a Devils team that is
  8. It's early, but the Devil with whom I am most disappointed is not Friesen. It's Langenbrunner. Not to say that Friesen's been setting the world on fire, but Jamie's been invisible. I hope he can make an impact.
  9. I gotta say, I don't feel all warm and fuzzy when Jay is out there on the PP. I realize that Burns may be sending a message to somebody, but I still don't like it.
  10. I completely agree with Kyydax here (unlike the "bad goal a game thread" LOL). I don't think it's right to bench a player who's playing well and I don't like the way Danton handled the benching. He's acting like a baby. I like the kid's fire, though. He's brash. I wish he'd save it for the ice.
  11. Again, Kyydax, like I've said on the past, you can't give up a bad goal a game if you have over 50 career shutouts. It's a mathematical impossibility. I saw your argument about the Ottawa goal the other day, saying that Brodeur should have stood up to protect the top part of the net instead of dropping to the ice to protect the bottom on the deflection. I don't know if you're right or not because I'm not an expert on goaltenders technique, but I think it's nitpicking. Please, tell me the goaltender who doesn't allow bad goals and how the Devils can get him. If your point is that Brodeur is not as great as some people think he is, then point taken. But if your point is that there's a better option out there for NJ, you lost me.
  12. The bottom line is that this goalie Kyydax is looking for does not exist. He might as well be searching for the Holy Grail or the Ark of the Covenant. Kyydax, take off those sunglasses and see the light! Marty is your goalie and there aren't many better!
  13. Dear lord, we're going to look at Marty through a microscope, examining every shot that gets past him. I'll tell you, it's stupid and it's no fun. This "one soft goal a game" stuff is pure crap. Kyydax, when you have a better, REALISTIC option than Martin Brodeur, let me know. But before you let me know, do an "analysis" on THAT goalie, and let me know how many bad goals a game HE gives up! Start screaming for DaFoe, Kyydax.
  14. Yes, Sundstrom. I would like the new arena to have at least two concourses with concessions, to alleviate the stampede that exists at CAA in between periods. I'd like a cozier atmosphere and a lower roof so that crowd noise is amplified. I'd like to get rid of the "make noise" graphics. I'd like a scrolling out-of-town scoreboard that informs fans who scored the goals. I'd like a penalty board that shows the number AND name of the player who committed the penalty, along with the type of infraction. I'd like seats with cupholders. That's about all I can think of.
  15. Ditto on what Eldon said. You don't fret about Marty playing back-to-backs after six days off. THAT"S LUNACY, Kyydax........and that's without my red and black glasses on.

    Iginla??

Doubtful. Salomonsson had as much value as dandruff.
  17. KingDevil, I did not see what you saw. If anything, I thought Lindros tried to avoid Belak after he tripped. I guarantee that the major won't go on Lindros' record. The league will rescind it.
  18. It was a terrible call. To think otherwise isn't being fair.
  19. This claiming of Salomonsson is about as close to a non-event as you can get. I don't care either way. He's not going to play for the big club and he's worth squat on the trade market. If he wasn't worth squat, do you think Lamoriello would have placed him on waivers?
  20. Don't forget Vinny Lecavalier! The Devs will be linked to those rumors as long as mark (N)Єverson is around!
  21. Maybe the Rangers need The Rock to give the players a locker room pep-talk: KNOW YOUR DAMN ROLE, YOU JABRONIS!!!
  22. Tri, check out UFAs for July 2004, too. Lou likes guys with some time left on their contracts.
  23. Redrum, Don't forget about one of our offensive defensemen, which is also an option.
  24. I know Lou doesn't trade for soon-to-be UFAs in the last year of their contract, but the idea of Kovalev being one of the team's top 6 forwards is appealing nonentheless! The Devils are a scary team if they add him. The Devs have the chips to land him, too, but if they did get him, Lou would have to sign him to justify giving up the players necessary to land Kovalev. Of course, this is all speculation that won't come true. My preference (and Lou's) would be for the present players to step it up, but like a lot of us, I have my doubts. Lou will probably have to address the situation sometime this year, but it probably won't be Kovalev. It'll probably be Geoff Sanderson or someone of that ilk.
