Great news as everyone has said but to look at it from another perspective...unless Elias has been told something that we don't know (which is very very possible) I would be pissed! I mean first Lou didn't want to give him a long term deal because of his illness, understandable, but now he starts the season (not at 100%..but rather because the team was in desperate need) and does wonders for everyone's confidence...Not only did he kick start our 9 game winning streak but he's been producing like mad...4G, 12A, +7 in 11 games...he's been our heart of this team as well as the leader and has yet to recieve the "C" (doesn't matter who thinks its just a letter, its called getting respect for doing a job...If you've been at a job for 8 years and have been excelling at it then the manager steps down and you are the most qualified yet the position is still open, you'd be a bit upset too)...now, again if two things have been explained to Elias such as a contract is on the way and the "C" he will get at Stevens retirement ceremony then there is no problem...but if not then this comes up too the fact that he was overlooked (seemingly) for a new contract....especially considering Marty had a team option on his contract stating that he could very well get extended one year....but anyway...as a huge Elias fan, I'm just hoping that Lou is smart enough to do things that prepare to make Patty a devil captain for the rest of his career....it would be a huge mistake not to...

Hey guys...I was making some new wallpaper for my comp and turned out it could easily be made into a series...I have two sets...the Player series and the Line series...Here are a sample of the two...shown here is Marty in the Player series version and the EGG line in the line series....the EGG line is the only line one I have done but I have Marty, Elias, Gomez, Gionta, and Janssen done for the players...let me know what you think and if you want me to post more!! I was browsing over at Hockeybuzz.com and Dan Wallace had a post on his blog about an article by Forbes magazine...It showed some of the financial rankings and the Devs were up there for a few things... Turns out (no big surprise I'm sure) the Devils ranked #1 in most expensive games to attend based on tickets, concessions, and merchandise for a family of four... Devils also ranked #2 in Best managed hockey clubs based on wins to player salary in the past 5 seasons A bit interesting looking at the most valuabled team and least valuable...as well as the team that brings in highest media revenue... mine is the photoshop compilation slideshow thing...its all the superhero wallpapers I've made (my son goes nuts naming all the guys he knows when he sees it on) During the football season its the Cowboys screenServer..not saver...server its an up to date stats and news thing from the Cowboys..pretty cool actually!!

What I don't get is this...to me the NHL is like playing a video game on Hard...its...well hard...only great players are good and good players aren't that bad...well Almo is supposed to be a great player...at least a good player so when you go down to Albany it's like you reset the game to medium difficulty and yet he's still a negative plus/minus and has apparently been doing nothing...he should have like a hat trick every other game or something...I mean...coming from those who believe he's still a 2nd liner in the NHL...the fact is he's not a 2nd liner any more...he's old, injured, lazy and doesn't want to shoot...if he were a race horse he would have been taken to the barn by a man with a shotgun...

Numbers-wise and just the situation we are in it seems like he's probably very Marshall-like...just my assumption because I don't even know the guy but that would be my best guess...seems like Lou thinks we can win with what we have...a part breaks get a copy of the part in there until the parts fixed...I still say we need someone who can score but aahhh wellllll....we'll see what he can do.... ...Uhh...guys...check out where it says I'm from in my profile...Kristine Twardy...that's NJDevChick...on these boards...uhh...she's my fiance (yeah yeah...I'm that lucky)....anyway....she's said that since the news broke of Steven's and Dano's ceremonies..but I'm the one that actually sent in the email...along with one from me asking about Elias' captaincy that he should have gotten...both of our emails got a return (unknown address) too so I didn't think that we got through...oh well looks like we did

The ironic thing about it all is I watch NBC almost every night....On mondays I watch Las Vegas and usually get drawn into medium by my fiance...then on Tuesdays is Scrubs which I Tivo (amazingly hilarious actors and equally talented writers) Wednesdays is ABC cuz i Tivo Lost...Thursdays is back to Tivo'ing NBC with Earl and The Office...and the problem with The Office is it isn't a traditional American comedy and dumbed down American's hate that...they want their "show me I'm supposed to laugh" comedy by pointing out the obvious...The Office is very true to life with slight embelishments and that's what makes it great...when other comedies would punch in a corny line to try to get laughs the Office lets the actors react the way most people would in given situations and that's what makes it funny...its a shame that show doesn't do as well as it should...and yeah as far as Las Vegas it does suck but the only other show I know that has stood the test of Friday is Numb3rs...which started on Fridays...hopefully LV overcome that test too...

The problem is NBC has too many crap shows they keep on the air wayyyyyyy past the expiration date...Joey being one of those examples...it should have been cancelled 3 episodes in but was extended to a second season...then they don't do enough promoting of good shows...like with Scrubs...since they don't own the rights to Scrubs (Disney hence ABC does...NBC only has a deal for distribution and doesn't bring in much revenue despite how well the show may do) they don't promote it...they could easily build of that show even if they aren't making much money from it...and they are making a bad move with moving Las Vegas....since they moved Earl and the Office to Thursday the only solid block is Monday with Las Vegas and Medium...but now since they have a crappy schedule they have to move Las Vegas to try and create and audience on another night...horrible decision making by NBC...it's a shame good shows like Earl and especially the Office and Scrubs could end up getting an undeserved ax because of these bad decisions...

Oh I agree...but I don't think we need a creative center...Parise is a natural center...we need Langs to move up to that line with Parise and Kozzy...or at least get someone who can help...like Sugs...We need the checking line of Madden and Pando but even Brylin could be on that line, he's not lazy so he would be just as good on that line as Langs only then we could put Langs on a line to generate scoring....I think we need to trash are thinking with the crappy 4th line...I love Janssen and he needs to be there to wreak havoc when we need him but we need something on that line to stop ourselves from being a 3 line team, 1 scoring line, one checking line and one line that tries to score but hardly does....there's no use of keeping 2 guys around (I say two cuz at least Janssen has a point) on a 4th line that plays 2 minutes a game....Lou needs to realize this now so we don't have to go on a losing streak for him to figure it out...

Plain and simple...the EGG line was tired and have been the past few games...we've been playing worse and worse because we have no offense (or hardly any) without the EGG line...looking at the last three games including tonight... Elias - 2G 1A Gomez - 1G Gionta - 0G 0A Yeah our powerplay is scoring but our number one PP line consists of the EGG line plus Langs...we have to get some kind of offense to help out Elias & Co....Lou knew we could only ride that line for so long...they've gotta get some rest so we can get on another run soon!!

Yeah, all of their songs are catchy...the latest CD is great too....you have to check out Ralph Wiggum...it a bunch of Ralph Wiggum lines from the Simpsons put to song....its great...even ends with "yvan eht nioj" My 2 yr old son sings along to the chorus of "Uhn Tiss Uhn Tiss" hehe...now that song is catchy as hell...

Have you actually heard that song? ....listen very closely to the words if you haven't before you get that song for your ringtone...hehe....

I've got the Office theme (US) set as my ringtone...switched it to that not to long ago...had it set to Foxtrot, Uniform, Charlie, Kilo by Bloodhound Gang... great song!!

I believe it was six shooters...I just got through watching the game...Sykora had the game winning goal in the shoot out...a nice backhand peanut butter shelf...a pretty sweet move...he didn't even move his stick much and elevated the puck right underneath the crossbar....should be an interesting game tomorrow!! GO DEVS EDIT here's the box score...Sykie had a goal in the game and then the game winner in the shoot out...final score was 3-2... Link -On another note Carolina got crushed 5 - 2 by the Caps tonight...there went their winning streak....

It's not a matter of giving Elias the credit for the shut outs but its no coincidence that Elias returns and 3 of 5 games Marty posts shut outs...what defensive liabilities are you talking about? McUseless was gone way before the streak and only came back what one game when Malasuck retired/left and that was when we had 7 dmen anyway and he probably clocked in one half shift...and Malasuck retired mid December which we posted 5 losses in 7 games after that...not to mention Almo was scratched or relegated (sp?) to fourth line with 6 minutes playing time at most during the games he was there and even though he posted a poor plus minus in those games in those same games we lost by a huge margins in those defeats so even if he was directly responsible for those goals by the other team the end result still would have given the team a win (based on how many goals they scored compared to Almo's plus minus)...now granted Marty has been spectacular and no doubt he is just as hot as the rest of the team but like I said Elias started that fire and EVERYONE is playing better...with the exception of Gionta who has been our only consistent guy all season...as far as Gomer goes...yeah he started getting hot two games before Elias showed up but again in those two games we lost in a total 12-5....Gomez scoring all five goals...anyone can say its crazy to give Elias all the credit and that would be a good arguement except that he deserves most of that credit...yeah he's not the one in goal stopping the shots and he's not scoring every goal we tally but he IS the reason for it...as stated in my last post..he IS the reason these other players are doing well...not only is he able to be the voice in the locker room but now he is backing it up on the ice and everyone is playing better because of it...and since everyone is playing better offensively AND defensively Marty is having and easier time making those great crucial saves during a game....like i said before...this article hits the nail on the head and I'm glad someone finally put it on paper...even if it is crazy ass Chico

streaky?? Hardly....I would rarely call anyone who has led our scoring the past five seasons streaky...even when he goes a few games without a goal he rarely goes without some impact...that is why he also has led the team in shots on goal, plus/minus (even had a season when he tied for most in the league), and is hardly out of the top 3 in team assists...He is a true all around player...he can change the game with one shot but still be the guy who is on the ice stopping the other team from scoring...that's why up until he illness he was on the ice as a member of the top line but also a member of the top PP line and the second Penalty kill line...now he's probably etched his name in there for being one of the top three shoot out guys for us on his skill alone...and that is without being 100%...if we are talking about a player like Jagr who only scores then yeah Elias is streaky but just as I stated above...its way beyond just scoring goals with Elias...He's done something that not even Marty could do and that's light a fire under ever player in that locker room...say what you will and as godly as Brodeur is he couldn't even do that...just as the article says its not only what he does on the ice but off the ice as well...he has shown time and time again this season why he is the leader of this team....IMHO there is not one left winger who has the skill set Elias does that is as great a two way player as he is in the NHL!...but again...just my two cents

Team president Ken Sawyer would be expected to replace Lemieux, who will remain as chairman. Lemieux told the Post-Gazette that Sawyer "really has been running the franchise on a day-to-day basis, so it's not really a big change. He's been doing all the work the last few years." Lemieux also told the paper on Wednesday that "a few groups" have expressed interest in purchasing the Penguins. Isle of Capri Casinos Inc. could be a player in the process if the Penguins gain a license to operate a slots parlor in Pittsburgh. Isle of Capri reportedly has pledged $290 million for a new arena if the Penguins gain the the license, which would affirm the franchise's commitment to stay in Pittsburgh. "I think we've done pretty much everything we can do, as far as setting up the franchise for the future," Lemieux told the paper. He also added that the team has "a plan with Isle of Capri to make sure this franchise stays in Pittsburgh forever, which has always been my goal. I really feel that we've set it up to do that if the right things happen." Lemieux did not identify who expressed interest in the team and did not quote an asking price. "I'm sure there are going to be a few bids," he told the paper. "That's how the process works." Link

Yeah, I'd say that rumor got started on the fact that someone asked him a question about his future...he's at the twilight of his career and said something about he would love to go back home...so on a so forth it turns into we are interested in him...next it'll be saying the Devils are close to a trade with the 'Hawks... Yeah I noticed that too...DM: I think it might be the way they are named...when I saved the old fuzzy thing pics I noticed the bright ones were named (bf_new) and the dimmed ones were (bf_no_new...or something similiar...but the new ones are showing up, when i save them as (bf_new) for the bright ones and (bc_new) for the dimmed ones....that could have something to do with it just a thought...

I could be wrong because it is pretty hard to hear but the timing and the loud part where you can hear sounds very much like Simple Plan - "Untitled"...it is a decently popular song so I could see it being played there...let me know if that's it once you hear that song...here's a clip from cdnow.com...
