SatansDevils
Greene's poke-check to break up that 3-on-1 was one of the best defensive plays I've seen by a Devil all season. <JESTER> Yes it was and he really needs to stay in the line up playing very well. Greene saved possibly a goal on that play.
Triumph
The rookies will come around - Greene played better than I thought he would, but I'm not sure I like him on the PP (but he didn't see the ice much in the 3rd). Zajac was non-existant, which I don't suspect will last terribly long once he settles down. Just keep in mind they are rookies and they will make mistakes, it doesn't mean they should get yanked every time they screw up.Not a bad game, just hate the way the refs are calling this first round (for everyone). But, Brodeur has to be better or we'll be sunk. Zajac will probably be less effective than he was during the season - this is first pro year, and guys tend to have trouble playing 90+ games, coming off the much shorter college season. This is true. Hopefully with Parise and langenbrunner on that line it will pick Zajac up for the playoffs.
mikepopowich
that was a great game, could've been better, but we got the win. offense was good and holmqvist helped by not holding that goal which got knocked right in parise in the third perdiod. the crowd seemed very into it, and i can't wait till saturday. langsgirl
This morning the channel 11 news did the longest highlights on the devils game.. thats never happened.. they showed one ranger goal, one Isles goal and then 3..almost 4 (they cut it off) goals on devils highlights. Normally its 20 seconds on ranger highlights and just a brief score mention on the devils while showing the emblem..not even footage WOOHOO. i felt special
langs15
Everyone needs to stop complaining about the D. The speed is different in the playoffs and since dman are the longest to progress, it'll take them longer to get used to the speed. They'll learn. Have faith. We have what we have and have to deal with that. Edited April 13, 2007 by langs15
njdevils2003champs
Great game, I was in the last row of Section 240 and to see the offense score 5 goals was amazing. I guess I'll be saying what everyone was saying, Oduya was bad in the first two periods but really stepped up and got better as the game went on. The only knock is that they need the Madden line against Lecavalier and St. Louis.
SatansDevils
The only knock is that they need the Madden line against Lecavalier and St. Louis. The Madden/Pandolfo line was playing against St. Louis and Lecavalier line although not very well as that line got all three of their goals. Madden/Pandolfo/??? need to tighten up on their top line from scoring. Brylin did not work out that well last night on that line.
langs15
If worse comes to worse, it'd put Langenbrunner back on the checking line, and than Brylin with Parise/Zajac.

Move a fourth liner up and Brylin down? Meh they just hit people.
