FightCommies77
I got this from HFboards. "I'm sure this is not perfect, but using lots of web resources here are the MINIMUM salary commitments for each team as of 3:00 Monday. For RFA I used their qualifying offers, in some cases those RFA will probably see a major raise. For the 20 man roster I used the 2 G, 12 F and 6 D under contract that seemed most likely to be on the team if the season started today. $$$ Team Name (Significant RFA to be signed) 51.0 Philadelphia 47.4 Toronto 46.4 Boston 44.6 Ottawa (Emery, Schubert, Kelly, Saparykin) 43.9 NY Rangers (Lundqvist, Prucha, Avery, Hossa) 42.1 Carolina 40.3 Florida (?Dvorak salary, Weiss) 40.3 Tampa 37.8 Montreal (Ryder, Perezhogin) 37.2 Pittsburgh (Armstrong) 36.0 Atlanta (Exelby) 35.6 New Jersey (Parise, P.Martin) 33.2 Buffalo (Vanek, Roy, Paetsch, Paille) 32.7 Washington (Eminger) 26.0 NY Islanders (Campoli, Hunter) West 47.1 Anaheim (Selanne? includes S.Niedermayer) 45.2 Vancouver 45.0 St. Louis (Stempniak, Woywitka) 43.5 Colorado (Svatos) 43.0 Calgary 41.5 Chicago 41.4 Minnesota 41.0 Detroit (Hudler) 40.6 Dallas (Ribeiro, Jokinen, Miettinen) 39.9 Edmonton (Pitkanen, Torres) 37.1 San Jose 37.1 Columbus 35.7 LA Kings (Cammalleri) 32.5 Phoenix (Ballard) 27.6 Nashville"
Chimaira_Devil_#9
It makes me feel good that Toronto has a wage bill that high , when the team they have is so poor. Same with Boston and Chicago.

Boston has been at the cap ever since they signed Chara for 7.5 mil per season. Anyway, I'm actually pretty surprised to see Chicago and Toronto with that much of a payroll. It's nice to see that out of the bad teams, at least the Devils are the smart one.

If we can add a few utility players at the lower end of the $$$ we will be a reasonable team who are smart.
njdevsfn95
5 teams still have to spend money to reach the Cap Floor...especially the Islanders ($8M) and Predators ($7M)

Agreed, but we are running out of players who could actually help us. As long as Lou doesn't throw a ridiculous amount of money at somebody, which it appears he won't, we will still be one of the smarter teams out there. And by smart I mean looking long term, instead of just short term. It's just a matter of how competitive we will be in the upcoming season. stevestevens
Theres no way in hell the rangers can sign Lundqvist, Prucha, Avery and Hossa, then expect to get Shanahan back. Sounds like maybe they will let go of Prucha because Lundqvist might ask for a good amount. Maybe Hossa will be let out.
TravisZajac
Rangers will be screwed.. Lundqvist=4.5-5millions? Lets say 4.5. Avery..2millions. Prucha..1.5millions Hossa..800k That makes a total of: 52.7millions, WITHOUT SHANNY. Unless Lundqvist takes a HUGE Discout.. Rangers will definately have problems with their Cap. stevestevens
Avery is going to want more than 2 million. Prucha is a 30 goal scoerer 2 years about, slowed down but still oung, might ask for more than 1.5. Hossa isnt going to sign for 800k. Rangers are going to lose they youth. Yes..If Bryan Smolinski could get 2millions.. He'll get 2.5-3.5 millions.. So i say they have to trade Prucha and....Hossa.
stevestevens
They cant get much in return for them unless they send them to the minors, which neither will want to see.
