StormJosh
I got first pick?!??! Awwww yeah! Are we allowed to trade picks? Its for sale if so!!
NJDevs4978
No, no draft pick trades, it's more or less impossible to do with a 19-team live draft.
StormJosh
It can be as simple as a gentleman's agreement to draft on someones behalf for that particular pick.
aylbert
Agreed... but you wouldn't be trading the pick offically. It would be Malkin, etc for X and Y officially... always free to trade as you wish

redruM
if you want to trade your 1 and 5th rounder for my 2nd & 3rd rounder we cancertainly talk....
NJDevs4978
Just guessing but I don't think picks #32 and #45 are enough value for the first overall plus pick #77. Like ayl said, any trade will more or less have to be NBA style.
StormJosh
I would obviously need a first rounder coming back in any agreement.
aylbert
I would obviously need a first rounder coming back in any agreement. You're like better off just drafting your #1 and seeing what people will pay for him... then trying to get lucky by drafting who they want... and seeing how it goes later in round 1 and round X, etc
NJDevs4978
Two hours left till the draft. The draft room itself'll probably be open around 8 if anyone wants to shoot the breeze in the Yahoo! chat room before the actual draft begins
snartly
I am willing to give up my second overall pick for a mid-rounder (6-12) and a second. Mid rounder being in the first round, but 6-12 pick
ghdi
Wait, we can trade picks? Hmmm. Well, I'd like to move up depending on spot/terms. I hold the 14th overall in the first.
NJDevs4978
Not officially (Yahoo! only lets you trade picks for 'next' year's draft, which isn't feasible in a non-keeper league with constant turnover) but you more or less have to draft each other's picks for the spots you 'trade', then do the deal with those players after the draft...NBA-style. Maybe next year when we have more time we can do draft pick trades before the draft though, since I 'can' adjust the order for each individual round. Of course such trades would have to be even (two draft picks for two draft picks). Edited January 19, 2013 by NJDevs4978
aylbert
Fun draft all... good times as always. Best of luck!
NJDevs4978
I honestly don't know what I'm going to do with my lineup on a daily basis, I have similar players and depth at every position, though I don't neccesarily have top-end players other than Rask and maybe Green if he ever stays healthy. More like a solid lineup that 'should' be competitive in most categories. On the one hand, it's going to give me major lineup headaches. On the other hand, it's nice to have depth in a short season in case things go awry and people get hurt or their games go to ****.
The Beaver
Great draft guys. Had fun. I like my starters ( as long as Benn signs ) but the bench is heavy on players with potential. Good luck to all!

NJDevs4978
Yeah, this draft was really well-attended, I think 16 of the 19 at least showed up at some point - that's pretty good attendance. One other note I forgot earlier, you have two IR spots on your roster. If one of your players goes on IR you can just put him there and pick up someone from the wire to fill out your roster, until that player gets off IR. Then you have to drop someone to bring him back. NJDevs4978
I had to look it up to find who the hell you guys were talking about. Right now the best pick looks like whoever grabbed Tarasenko in the 10th round Just a couple of picks after I took Huberdeau ironically enough, and he didn't have a bad debut either. redruM
Draft was fun as always, I had to bail at 10PM, beleive it or night my daughter was playing soccer at 1130PM, 24 hour charity soccer marathon, so my bench is a mess, otherwise I really like me team...
