Elias Sports Bureau
Sis reports that there is a lot of Devils souvenir stuff to be spotted in the trailer for the Brittany Murphy movie Little Black Book. She thinks that at some point the characters are at a game, she's snooping on her boyfriend or something to that effect. Gonna try and find a site with the trailer... Elias Sports Bureau
Here's the trailer: http://www.empiremovies.com/movies/2004/li...lack_book.shtml I see what looks like a framed jersey and a lamp. I think what she thinks was a game was a talk show though. Darn. Then again, she might have seen the expanded trailer.

SwampsofJersey
I was checking out the movie's site and it turns out the guy is a scout for the NJ Devils.
David Puddy
That's so money. Even if this movie sucks, I'll see it just for that.
Darwindog
I think this is karma-tic motivation... If you're trapped in a crappy Office Space type job now... you may one day be in an extraordinarily cool job in the near future Hope the movie's a hit! So HA! Darwindog
Do you think there's any way red hasn't caught on that I logged in as Darwin to keep Turner ahead of Freeze in the vote off? I better log back on as Pepperkorn! Edited July 15, 2004 by Darwindog
Satans Hockey
I clicked on that link and watched that terrible trailer and about 2:10 in they are at a game. You can see that people have devils jerseys and they also have thundersticks. Paying about 10 bucks to go see this trash at the movies just because there is some devils stuff in it makes a lot of sense too. sammyk
I've wasted my money on worse movies, this can't be that bad. I'll just check it out at the $3 theatre, where the soda costs more than the ticket!
FriesenKris
Go see it Devils fans! It's a really cute movie & there are a lot of Devils references & items in the background. Looks like the clips from the games were taken at the playoffs last year against the Bolts. I won't ruin the surprises but there are a few names mentioned. MissionHockey
Ruin the surprises. I'm not going to see it anyway, which players do they mention?
Pepperkorn
is there a shower scene?
FriesenKris
Specifically they mention Langenbrunner, Rafalski & Pat Burns. You can't miss those names. The character who is the Devils scout was rattling off names of players he was trying to recruit & mentioned who they were related to or who they knew & one of those names was Nieuwendyk. Pat Burns' name came up when the women were at dinner. The chef said that Pat Burns sent her over playoff tickets as they discussed who he was. Then, the scout called his girlfriend for some phone numbers. He needed Rafalski & Langenbrunner's numbers while he was in Detroit. The character played by Brittney Murphy repeated the names as she wrote them down. Her "friend" asked her if she really meant the players for the Devils as she said their names again, this time adding their first names in there. Murphy's character asked her friend if she knew them & she said she only wished she did. She said their names with the same excitement that some of us ladies do. The clips of the actual games were closeup & went so fast but in the first one, they show the Devils rushing towards Khabibulin's end of the ice with Brylin checking Boyle (?) into the boards behind the net. Then they attend the playoff game that Pat gave them the tickets for. They show a full view of the ice as the anthem played. Later in the game, they show a Devil scoring. It could have been Elias. It went so darn fast but it was one of our LWs. Sadly, there were no shower scenes. Isn't that what Fox Sports Net is for though?
Pepperkorn
Speaking of which in real life, Deb Kaufamn was on one of the New York channels doing sports .. probably Fox huh? Me, my sis and sis' fiance had a virtual Rocky Hockey Picture Show fest going on watching this movie. I'm sure anyone in our vicinity didn't enjoy it much. We just got tickled by anything Devils' related... like what Kris previously mentioned. I saw Pando in front of the net before the goal was scored but he was tilted another action so maybe it was a Madden shot? Or Langenbrunner -- cause they LOVE this guy. If you look closely at the jersey on the wall... which my sis did... you can make out Daneyko and Langenbrunner autographs! I take issue with the Jamie one, it doesn't look like his autograph -- which means they either faked it or he signs differently when he's trying to. I couldn't tell it was Sarge with the check. They play organ music DURING play and there's an absence of Rock & Roll Pt. 2, but that's just Hollywood for ya. Holly Hunter rules!
MissionHockey
Pretty interesting, I'll make time to watch it on HBO. Do any of the players speak?
Elias Sports Bureau
Pretty interesting, I'll make time to watch it on HBO. Do any of the players speak? Nope. Of course we woulda mentioned that. It's just funny to get references all the time. Esp. when you tend to notice those details in the movie. I thought it was amusing to see an Islanders jersey in The Terminal, so to have a movie with little Devils details all the time was cool. And different. MissionHockey
Well from what you guys say, its definately not enough incentive for me to embarass myself by going to see it in the thearte. Not that I was going to anyway, I still hate my sister for making me see my best friends wedding.
SHEDEVIL30
Well from what you guys say, its definately not enough incentive for me to embarass myself by going to see it in the thearte. Not that I was going to anyway, I still hate my sister for making me see my best friends wedding. I saw it on Sat. Not bad, but it was a "Chick flick" even with the references to hockey. Towards the end of the movie she tells her boyfriend that she hates hockey. I though he needed to dump her right then!
