Masked Fan
sheesh RD. All that plus the knee, you may as well just go for the bionics the next time! I'm sure the Crosby "break" is something that was annoying, but did not effect his game. It takes metal to play, regardless, Especially in this day where "STARS" get a hang nail and take a week off to protect their moneymakers. Jake
as much as i hate the pens, I am a huge fan of Crosby. And to hear that he played on a broken foot for two and a half weeks is pretty amazing. regardless of how broken his foot was, it was still broken, and its still pretty damn awesome. seashell
I think the media likes to blow this stuff up a bit. I heard that he had a broken bone in his foot, which certainly can be managed depending on the bone and is alot different then breaking your foot. Gotta love that media! Weekes Head
sheesh RD. All that plus the knee, you may as well just go for the bionics the next time! I was born with underdeveloped ligaments in almost all of my joints My ligaments have so much give that they can stretch and tear very easily. It's the worst in my knees, ankles, and shoulders. I can dislocate both my shoulders pretty much on command.
LOTCB
I ask this as a legitimate question based on what I see here: If Elias said this, would you believe it?
kain71
I SPRAINED my foot last October (before the X-Rays I thought I broke it) and I was in a lot of pain. I couldn't walk on it at all, it was purple, and I felt a throbbing pain for a week after I sprained it. I cannot imagine skating on a BROKEN foot for 2 weeks. But then again, I'm not a hockey player so maybe it's different and maybe, as someone said, they give him pain killers and what not. Skating and walking are completley different. These men are also trained and much much better looked after then some joe blow like yourself. Kudos the Crosby.
ice dog
i read that Jack Youngblood defensive end for los angeles played the entire 1979-1980 playoffs (including the 1980 Super Bowl) with a fractured left fibula...now that's insane! NJDevs4978
i read that Jack Youngblood defensive end for los angeles played the entire 1979-1980 playoffs (including the 1980 Super Bowl) with a fractured left fibula...now that's insane! I was going to bring this up but didn't know how many people would get the reference, if that's possible than it's pretty much possible to play through anything if you can walk or have a high enough pain tolerance. There do seem to be conflicting reports about what kind of break Crosby actually suffered, but he proved he can play somewhat hurt, the injury didn't hinder him. The Pens weren't beating Ottawaah anyway so who cares.
