    Kings Win

Agree his # should have been retired in LA but not for 35 min. Enough already, yes he was the greatest hockey player and all that crap but he retired like 2 years ago...Let's stop kissing his ass already....enough is enough and let's get on to more important things now and future stars.
  2. Pending transaction and players are USUALLY on waivers for a day so that's why it probably hasn't shown up yet, then again Yahoo's fantasy system screws up sometimes but it has shown up now.

    Zyuzin Out?

Z for Forsberg. That is fair. Don't need V Bure or Savard.

    Danton!!!!

Danton was sooooo freaken happy when he got that goal and he should be, the most well deserved goal of the year...and it happened in the 2nd game, Go Danton!! and the Devils!!
  10. Here's my thoughts.... Stevens - probably the WORST game I've ever seen him play. he was TERRIBLE, wow... Gomez - Player of the game (well obviously he got #1 star) but he was FLYYYYYYYING thru center ice and really was putting his heart into this game and was rewarded, great game Gomez. Marty - Sharp as always, 2 goals weren't his fault and made a fantastic 2 pad slide in the 3rd while the Jackets were on the PP. Tivo - Best Big 3 of the night, he was ALL over the place and was battling pretty damn hard behind his own net, really liked his effort. Little G - This kid was just ALL OVER the place tonight. Only let down was that he was on the PK unit for the Jackets first goal. After that he was determined to play well and he did just that. He even had this AWESOME check on some Jacket defensive late in the 3rd period, i was going nuts in my seat when I saw that. He almost got an empty netter too. Overall, the Devs were what I like to say Pretty damn consistent throughout the entire game, I liked what they had to offer tonight (except for Stevens) New first line: Elias-Gomez-Friesen. They were great for the 5 min they played together, hell they got the game winner. Gomez and Elias CLICKED immediately. Will post pics of the game on another forum and post the link here before I go to bed tonight..
  11. wow I was in Row 15 seat 6. They were great seats, I sometimes like it better sitting up there then my season tix seats.
  12. I dont think we really need Val. He's too injury prone and he will just make the Devs even smaller. I say keep Z around cause we might need him if Raf or Nieds are shipped out this year to bring in a PROVEN scorer, which is not Val.
  13. Ok, how is it possible for Nieds to get a goal and also ASSIST on his goal??? Think about it.
  14. Does anyone know if the game is actually sold out or not (not bloody likely probably....) I remember last year's home opener wasn't even a sellout and it was against the Isles.
  15. yeah M. Ive been trying to get Raf or Tivo off ur hands and it just AINT happening!! lmao!
  16. On my digital camera I can take up to like 750 pics....I think I can squeeze in a few pics of all of us together
  17. you got it DevFan! 1 goal and 1 assist for LittleG BOOK IT!
  18. I shall be there with my Sykora jersey and all!(hoping the fat man can get me a Little G one on xmas ) Ally and IAM will be behind the Devs bench during warmups as well so come stop by!!
  19. I would like Pavel to take his time getting back thank you very much.
  20. heh, I really hope so!! I can see LittleG getting atleast a goal tomorrow.
  21. 4-1 final. And you ppl think the Devs looked bad last night?? Thank god you aren't a Ranger fan then.
  22. Blue Jackets-Devils Preview October 11, 2002 GAME: Columbus Blue Jackets (1-0-0-0) at New Jersey Devils (1-0-0-0). TIME: Saturday, 7:30 p.m. EDT. The new-look New Jersey Devils play their first home game of the season when Rick Nash and the Columbus Blue Jackets visit Continental Airlines Arena. For all their new faces, it was Devils 11th-year goaltender Martin Brodeur who was the key to New Jersey's season-opening 2-1 victory over the Ottawa Senators on Thursday. Brodeur came within 1:46 of his 56th career shutout, finishing with 33 saves, and John Madden scored both goals as the Devils made a winner out of new coach Pat Burns. ``With new guys coming in, we're all just starting to know each other,'' Brodeur said. ``There's a new excitement on the team, which began right from training camp.'' The main new Devils are left wing Jeff Friesen and defenseman Oleg Tverdovsky, both acquired from Anaheim on July 6. Friesen had four of New Jersey's 20 shots, while Tverdovsky saw 18:29 of ice time. Madden, a defensive specialist, recorded his first two-goal game since Oct. 30 against Boston. Nash, the first player selected in the 2002 draft, had a memorable NHL debut Thursday, scoring his first goal to help the Blue Jackets beat the visiting Chicago Blackhawks 2-1 in their season opener. Nash, 18, was impressive enough in the preseason to make the team, then signed a three-year contract worth a base salary of more than $1 million per year that could add up to $12 million if he meets all incentives. ``It was amazing,'' Nash said of his goal. ``It's like a lifelong dream come true. It's just amazing, it's awesome. It's unbelievable to get it out of the way. I don't have to worry about it anymore.'' Nash, however, wasn't the only star for Columbus. Mike Sillinger had a goal and an assist and Marc Denis stopped 31 shots. ``We talked a lot about total commitment for 60 minutes many time the last two years,'' said Denis, a No. 1 goalie for the first time in his career. ``We've dominated games 20, 30, 40 and sometimes 50 minutes and not come up with any points. You have to go for 60. That's what we did tonight.'' If the Blue Jackets hope to improve this season, they will have to play better on the road. Columbus was an NHL-worst 8-29-3-1 away from home in 2001-02, including a season-ending 0-7-0-1 skid. STANDINGS (through Oct. 10): Blue Jackets - 2 points, 1st place (tied), Central Division. Devils - 2 points, 1st place (tied), Atlantic Division. TEAM LEADERS: Blue Jackets - Sillinger and Nash, 1 goal; Sillinger, Jaroslav Spacek and Ray Whitney, 1 assist; Sillinger, 2 points; Grant Marshall, 6 PIM. Devils - Madden, 2 goals and 2 points; Brian Gionta and Scott Stevens, 1 assist; Ken Daneyko and Turner Stevenson, 4 PIM. SPECIAL TEAMS (through Oct. 10): Blue Jackets - Power play: 16.7 percent (1 for 6), 8th (tied) in NHL. Penalty killing: 85.7 percent (6 for 7), 12th. Devils - Power play: 0.0 percent (0 for 5), 17th (tied). Penalty killing: 100.0 percent (5 for 5), 1st (tied). GOALTENDERS: Blue Jackets - Denis (1-0-0, 0 SO, 1.00 GAA); Jean-Francois Labbe (no appearances). Devils - Brodeur (1-0-0, 1.00); Corey Schwab (no appearances). 2001-02 SEASON SERIES: Blue Jackets, 1-0. Espen Knutsen had a goal and an assist, and Sillinger added a pair of assists to lead Columbus to a 3-1 home win on Dec. 10. ROAD/HOME RECORDS: Blue Jackets - 0-0-0-0 on the road; Devils - 0-0-0-0 at home. http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/news/ap/200210...ilspreview.html
  23. you dont get it. Teams in the East slow down the game to CONTROL the flow and that's exactly what the Habs are doing right now and what the Devs were set out to accomplish last night. I don't know where you guys are getting that the Devs were even that slow last night cause they definitely weren't. And hockey ISN'T all speed. The Devs of 2000 and 1995 didn't win the Cup because of just speed, they won it because mostly how they played their defense. The West can be as talented and fast as they want, go for them but the way it's done here in the East is through defense, atleast the good teams do that. So brag all you want about the West.... Gotta accept the fact that this team has a lot of new people on it, including a new coach and chemistry doesn't go on trees my man, you gotta be together for alittle more time than 1 NHL game to develop it. The ALine wasn't dominating when they first started now were they? Nope. But after spending time together, which is MORE than 1 game, they fed off each other and the same can happen to any one of these lines right now but it ain't happening after 1 game against a tight checking trap team. Let's be alittle patient maybe.
