  1. RD, if SOMEHOW Larionov and the Devils can recapture that, then he'll be worth the signing. So far, no good. But like I said, it's a long season and we may need him. Injuries happen. We're finding that out already.
  2. Right now Larionov is out of the mix and he hasn't played well, but it's a long season. You never know....we may need him. That first week, he was great on the PP, LOL!
  3. Can we bring in Parise NOW to help our PP? I hope he makes the team next year....this team needs an exciting player with offensive skills...
  4. Glad the Devs eked out a point, but devilsrule is right, this should have been a win. The Caps practically handed this game to NJ with all the penalties. NJD Jester, it's my hope that Elias can once again find chemistry with players who are as creative as he is, because he is on another level than most of the Devils.
  5. NJay, I feel the way you do about Gionta. I believe in the not-too-distant future, he will be a leading offensive player on this team. That's right, a first-line player
  6. I saw the January schedule for the NYR, bg. You're right. Lotsa games against good teams. By the way, I caught a lot of the Ranger game last night, and Dunham bounced back. He made some outstanding saves. Rangers really took advantage of that late penalty, too, pulling the goalie and scoring 6-on-4. Killing off that major penalty was huge, too.
  7. Pepperkorn brought up Ahonen's name. I'd like to see him play an NHL game. If he plays well, there's a trade chip right there.
  8. There is no "next Stevens."
  9. Excellent, excellent, excellent point.
  10. Like a lotta, lotta Devil fans, I'd like to see some more goals, and I think the guys that are already here are capable of supplying more offense. But if the right deal comes along, Lou will pull the trigger. I don't know what the right deal is. Those Mogilny trades don't come around every day.
  11. Derek, you make a good argument. The Rangers defense is not as bad as it has been the last six years. But that is not a talent-laden top six. And the goalie is middle-of-the-pack. Anyway, it looks like the Rangers' big problem right now is they don't have a knack for winning close games
  12. Like I said, Derek, the defense and goaltending counts, and the Rangers aren't very good in those areas.
  13. LOVE the have-another-donut devil! Awesome!
  14. Derek, I strongly disagree with your statement that the Rangers probably have the best talent in the conference. In goal and at the blue line, The Rangers have average to poor talent. Forward depth is so-so. A good coach could get them into the playoffs. They don't have a good coach.
  15. You can ask for a trade anytime you want. And if you can find a team that wants to unload a goal scorer that the Devils will pay, let me know. I'd love to have Kovalev, who's unrestricted after this season, but what are the chances of the Rangers trading him to the Devils? Slim.
  16. I thought it was a good call, brylin. Stevens got the stick up.
  17. Sorry, Pepperkorn. Stevens whined last night, just like most of the Devils who made a parade to the sin bin. I hate to see that crapola. Just sit down and SHUT UP!!
  18. Jesus, I don't want to trade Gomez, he was just bad tonight, LOL! Rafalski stunk, too, I don't want to ship HIS ass out! Rock, I mostly feel that way, also....the Isles played like an elite team tonight. They've been playing like an elite team for 2 weeks. They're tough and they skate......like the way we usually play, LOL!
  19. Well, when you're playing a hot team with some jump, and and you spend the whole night a step behind, this is what you get. A licking. With the undisciplined play, I thought that was the Rangers out there, not the Devils. And I ask, please, Devil players (White, Stevens, Madden) STOP THE WHINING! It was pathetic. They deserved every penalty. RD, you singled out Friesen and Gomez, and I thought fairly so. They were terrible. I'm not concerned about Marty because he was well-rested. Plus, he made some amazing saves, especially in the first period. I agree that he should rest more, but that wasn't the issue tonight IMO.
  20. Jerrydevil

    Insane!

If they trade for Tom Poti, I'm sure Boston will shore up the defense and penalty killing.
  21. It's only been a few games, but they are pulling together without Yashin. I'll take that Jason Blake on my team any day.
  22. Michael Eisner should have won the Conn Smythe, for planning the parade route before the series was over.
  23. I am greedy. I wanted our guys to get all the awards, especially since I thought Brodeur deserved it. To the victors go the spoils. That's all. It doesn't mean I don't value the championships. It doesn't mean I'm obsessing every day about Giggy. But in the end, I thought Marty was more valuable because without him, we don't win. Throw in the seven shutouts, too.
  24. Wow. The Devils' pop-gun offense poked holes in Giggy's armor. Somehow that didn't work against him in the Conn Smythe voting, LOL!
