hehe...I know how that feels...I was up at my future father in law's house (jets fan) during the Giants game and he was rooting for them just to piss me off luckily my son is learning to say "Go Cowboys" hehe....did you see Bledsoe before they threw the flag?? He's got more heart than anyone I've seen in a long time...not just on the Cowboys but in the entire NFL...it was a great game...hope they can duplicate that against the Redskins...Cowboys can still win the NFC East!!

I'm sure the Devils have no interest in him as many many many fans here have pointed out but I think they site the wrong reasons...if we don't, and most likely we won't, get him it will be purely because of salary cap reasons. When Sykora was dealt because of his lack of production and his attitude it was at a time in the NHL when such a luxury could be taken. I think that it has come to a point with the new salary cap when the attitude can and will easily fade just because if it doesn't you will not have a job in the NHL...cap restrictions only allow you so much room and players are fighting for their jobs...no one can afford to allow and attitude to keep you out of a possible job offer. That being said I also believe not only in the general sense of the NHL but the especially for the Devs that teams have to look into the best interest of the team not whether or not you happen to like a player as a GM. Sykkie without a doubt would have instant chemestry with Elias (they even played on the same Russian team during the lockout) and it would add even more depth once Elias returns (depending on what we have to give up) and would catapult the team to a much better position offensively. I just believe that teams are seeing the player for the skills more than his personality more in this new NHL (thus a lot of teams wanting Bertuzzi...he's skilled, almost doesn't matter if you lose a few fans for the time being because when you're winning the fans will return) Anyway, like I said I don't think we would get him just because we can't afford him but enough with the Lou won't get him he's been a problem before...not only does that really not apply any more but who knows...maybe he learned his lesson anyway...but that's just my two cents!!

It's not so much the speeches and what not it's like leeds said just the whole idea of profiting from her son's death and is actively pursuing that profit, its not being asked to speak somewhere for money its signing the book deal and everything that goes along with it...that's the real difference...the the act of actually pursuing that profit off of a tragedy...IMO anyway. I mean case in point is the Lt. Colonel Ruter...he does this for a living now...he's getting paid $600 a standard fee....there's a big difference between doing it for a living and making money than using your now almost celebrity type status and getting over paid for it.

The only point I was trying to make that while the intent of our capitalism is to make money and yes most everywhere that is at any cost it is not our intent to promote nor condone nor teach anything that stems from contriving a plan that exploits a tragedy. As you said it is human nature but it is not capitalism.

There is a big difference between being a capitalistic society that believes in entrepreneurship and someone who is making money off of a tragedy for their own gain...apparently they left that out of the "why American capitalism sucks" book you've been reading.

Ok, T.O. has had more headlines than anything war related as of late. It is insane the amount of attention is being paid to this. So I ask, Is it just me or is everyone making too big a deal out of this?? I mean the most recent punishment that comes to mind like this is when the Bucs deactivated Keyshawn Johnson in early-mid Nov. in 2003...because he didn't get along with the coach. Now it was done, he was traded and that was that....now the same thing with T.O. with the exception that he's constantly criticized his team and coaches but he was a hold out and he got into a fist fight with personnel...yet everyone including a senator and reverend are defending him...what is the big deal...he did the crime now pay the time!! oh here is the latest...from a senator as I mentioned: Senator says T.O. was mistreated...boo hoo

It's a shame how someone starts out with what seems like honest intent and genuine sincerity about something only to have it turn into a show all for money. If this was truly about spreading the word of keeping up with current events and alerting the public to an unneeded war then Sheehan wouldn't have book deals and getting paid 11,000 bucks for a public speech....that's insane...it all comes down to the dollar signs....it's a shame!

I voted choice 2 just based on the fact that this is a biased poll. I mean to say blatantly say that the shootout makes hockey more entertainment than sport is just like calling the (at the time was controversial) coach's challenge rule in the NFL a rule that devalues the referee's opinion in calling a fair game....if it were worded differently such as choice 1: you prefer the shootout, choice 2: you don't. then I might even put choice 1 but come on you're basically trying to start a poll that will obviously get everyone who is against the shootout to vote...not everyone...in fact I can almost completely say no one who likes the shootout thinks that hockey is now more entertainment than sport...leave that to bowling........or Nascar.

I agree...but I also feel that, even if it does get out of hand which it shouldn't but it could as we've seen, the Administrators need to show a bit more maturity. I know of one post in particular when someone expressed thier opinion and someone else didn't like it and said something uncalled for then two, yes two, different Administrators seemed to join in on the attitude and remarks instead of trying to defuse the situation. I think the Administrators should be held to a higher degree of responsibility in these situations because that is after all partly what defines them as administrators. It seemed that post quickly turned into a 4 on 1 and two of those posters being adminstrators until DM came in and stopped it in a very respectible and quick manner.

See this is what I don't get....the same thing happened with OJ....they are found not guilty when it comes to jail time then are found guilty in the civil case....that is where the American justice system fails us...Celebrities should be no exception!

The rumor had to have started because a Columbus scout was at the Caps Devils game and did say he needed a good sized center with good hands (there was a radio interview with the scout during one of the intermissions that I happen to catch)...obviously anyone who knows the Devils roster would have immediately pointed at Kozlov...but regardless....it is a rumor about something that didn't even happen so what's the point of writing about it...
