HellOnICE
If anyone watched the end of the game last night in Col/SJ, you saw Boughner punching, I can't remember off hand who that was, in the back of the head. There was no difference to that and Bertuzzi, other of course than moore's injury. The NHL needs to suspend Boughner, that sh!t was unacceptable. But they won't. L
I agree, Colorado totally lost it last night. I'll be interested to see what Teemu and Sakic have to say about this, since they complained so much about obstruction and goon tactics in the past. That game, while entertaining had as much obstruction and blown calls as any game all year long. The refs let it get out of hand and the result was barnaby and boughner acting like fools for the last 3 minutes. L
They sure do, hopefully they can keep it going all the way. If Marleau can string together some more consitent efforts they may have enough to win it all.
CRASHER
picture THIS final 4 in the NHL Toronto Tampa Bay Calgary San Jose boy would ESPN be crying in their panties at that !!! At least if it was those 4 I'd still be watching if the final 4 is Phily, Montreal, Detroit and Colorado ... as far as I am concerned we're already locked out *edit* also forgot to say I agree and the Sharks looked good and the Flames did EXACTLY what they needed to do last night !!! SueNJ97
The Avs were being embarrassed and decided to throw a tantrum. It was a sad sight. I'm sure if they had beaten the Sharks 5-2 with Floppy potting a hat-trick and SJ had decided to start a brawl at the end we would have had Sakic and Selanne in front of the cameras proclaiming that this was "everything that is wrong with the NHL". oofrostonoo
Yeah what the fvck was he thinking....When his teammate Steve Moore Brooke his neck and the Avalanche cried like Bertuzzi was some kind of monster he goes and does this. The only diferance between this and the other one was that Bertuzzi executed better....or worse./..which ever way you look at it.
oofrostonoo
And Foresberg gave a few cheap shots there too...as did Baranaby at the end of the game. But Barnaby got bunch right in the face once good...that was awesome.
ev0lemi
agreed. once they knew they couldn't have any more players off the ice they got dirty. and that hit from behind was like a bad bertuzzi flashback. -emily
peteyvegas
The refs suck. Love that San Jose coach!! Didn't see more than a minute on the boards. Strictly Center Ice. Doesn't he know that 70's and 80's hockey is taboo amogst NHL coaches??? He even had the audicity to put someone in front of the net, sometimes two, while one guy chased the puck behind the goalie. Dont you hate that sh!t??

littleton_devil
http://www.divealanche.com/ Goonalanche Forget Todd Bertuzzi. Last night in San Jose the Dives proved they are the dirtiest bunch of goons in the NHL. League needs to review last night's game and suspend Boughner, Gratton and Candy. San Jose shows their skills. Colorado can only moon the camera. PROPS, however, to Steve Konowalchuk, who admitted being "embarrassed" and was one of the only Avs players who showed up to play hockey instead of making an ass of himself. (4/23/04) For anyone not yet schooled in the ugliness and hypocrisy of the Avalanche, their baboon fans, and their Denver media enablers, last night's embarrassing spectacle in San Jose was a vivid demonstration of the vanity, greed, and sleaziness of this organization. To anyone familiar with Tony Granato's history as a slashing hack artist, it's no surprise that a Granato-coached Avalanche team would resort to the ugliest display of crybaby goonery in recent memory after getting their asses handed to them by a sharp and disciplined Sharks team. After all, Granato's own rotten sucker tactics earned him one of the longest suspensions in NHL history, perhaps the only achievement for which he'll be remembered. But what might be surprising (to anyone but us) is that the same team that made Steve Moore the poster child for everything that is wrong with the NHL (translation: every other team except the Divealanche) and paraded him before the world like a wounded hero would then allow defenseman Bob Boughner to go out and sucker punch a San Jose player in exactly the same manner that Bertuzzi suckered Moore. No word yet from the NHL on what the length of Boughner's suspension will be. From the minute it was clear that the Dives had no chance of winning this one, Colorado put on display after petulant display of rotten sportsmanship, up and down the ice, for the entire hockey world to witness. In a move that should earn him a suspension along with Boughner, David "Candy" Aebischer --who once froze in fear instead of dropping gloves with Vancouver's Johan Hedberg-- angrily slashed Niko Dimitrikos. Shortly afterward Candy was yanked from the game, the back of his head glowing red from the goal light. Meanwhile, in another move totally deserving a suspension, Chris "We Traded Drury For This" Gratton made his first significant contribution to the Dives organization... by attacking a linesman! Not to be outdone, Floppa hacked, slashed, punched, kicked, and bit every opposing player he could get his hands on. At one point the Nut-Punching Prima Donna could even be seen cross-checking a San Jose player's head while pinning him to the ice! At around the 7-minute mark, Colorado put on a display of diving that had to be seen to be believed (Mathew Barnaby, in particular, appears to have missed his true calling as a circus cannon clown). At one point there seemed to be more Avalanche skates in the air than there were actually touching the ice. Major props to this group of officials for not biting on a single bit of it. Forget Todd Bertuzzi. Forget Steve Moore. We all got had, folks. The NHL, the fans, the media, the Oprah show.... even Divealanche.com. The Colorado Divealanche and their Media Enablers learned NOTHING from the Steve Moore incident. As they demonstrated last night, the Dives --from their head coach down to their laundry personel-- are just as dirty as any team in the league (our vote: the dirtiest) and they could not give a rat's ass what anyone thinks about it. Moreover, after seeing Boughner punching the back of a San Jose player's head last night, we now must seriously question this team's motives with regard to the Naslund/Bertuzzi/Moore fiasco. The only difference we can see between the two incidents is that no one's neck was broken by Boughner's sucker punch, although one COULD have been. Of course --with the exception of Woody Paige, who wrote, "The only message the Avs sent last night was 'We don't have enough class to handle this like men'"-- Denver's Media Hypocrites loved every second of the embarrassing spectacle. Bookends John Kelly and Peter McNabb abandoned any pretense of being professionals last night, snorting and giggling like two retarded monkeys in a box. Forget all the phony baloney The Bookends spewed when Moore was face-down on the ice. Kelly and McNabb save their selective outrage for injured Avalanche players, not their opponents. Like their henchman Mike Haynes at 950 AM, last night The Bookends apparently wanted "injuries... lots and lots of injuries". At one point McNabb bellowed that the Dives must give San Jose "a taste of their own medicine". What medicine would that be, Pete? A taste of scoring goals? A taste of good sportsmanship? A taste of class? Don't kid yourself... nobody expects such things from your bunch of rotters Edited April 23, 2004 by littleton_devil

NewarkDevil5
I'd prefer if we save the Rangers suck chant for when we're playing the Rangers. I still wish that Devils fans would take on some of the college-style chants. They require a bit of coordination for such a huge crowd, but I think they're possible.
