Don
Lanny MacDonald gave a press conference today announcing that Hockey Canada has released this years PSA's to stop overly, err, enthusiastic, parents. The better ones are: http://www.hockeycanada.ca/e/develop/paren...oads/pin_hi.mpg http://www.hockeycanada.ca/e/develop/paren...potato_hi_e.mpg But neither hold a candle to last years masterpiece: http://www.hockeycanada.ca/e/develop/paren...ads/grocery.mpg
BlueSkirt
Thanks, Don. Us here in the States rarely get to see stuff like that.
'7'
I bet she would've gone after her if it wasn't for the damn instigator penalty.

Nieuwy25
I've seen the one from last year - and I was wondering where the heck this commercial was heading! It gets your attention.
peteyvegas
We're Americans. We like kicking a little ass now and again.
Pepperkorn
That little girl seriously reminds me of... errr... someone I know except I have brown hair. But seriously did any of you guys get all annoyed with your Mom for being a wuss and stuff ever? My mom would just ignore or laugh at me which made it worse even! (what's worse is I can tell I'm going to be wuss Mom myself! The little things roll off my back now...I guess that's good though huh? ) Edited November 14, 2003 by Pepperkorn
Nieuwy25
Trust me, that's good. What a child thinks is wussiness is really just maturity and good sense. But, duh, like I'm telling you something you hadn't figured out a long time ago.
insanity_gallops
Great ads. I wish we had more like them in the States... but I doubt people would take them seriously or pay much attention. Hell, look at the lack of attention from the anti-smoking ads, anti-drugs, etc.
Pepperkorn
"this is your brain on drugs... any questions?" got a lot of mileage... As an actor it would be funny to do one of those spots.
meehan666
Is there fighting in womens hockey?
Don
No, there is VERY, VERY, rarely any fighting in women's hockey. Most leagues have the rule that if you start a fight, you are automatically ejected from the league for life. Which is what I think it should be in the NHL, but I will leave that for another thread. (-: The NWHL here isn't as strict. A fighting major leads to a league review of the incident and a lengthy suspension. That is enough of a deterent that there usually are not fights. sammyk
Is there fighting in womens hockey? There oughta be! I'd pay for a catfight during a hockey game! Hair pulling and all!
