thefiestygoat
This should cover most of the AHL and ECHL prospects. I used the reserve list at capgeek and what I could remember about guys on AHL deals: AHL for the lockout? Adam Henrique C (EDIT: Added him late to post) Adam Larsson D Jacob Josefson C Stephen Gionta C Peter Harrold D Mattias Tedenby LW Goalies Keith Kinkaid Scott Wedgewood Maxime Clermont Jeff Frazee Defensemen Brandon Burlon Eric Gelinas Alexander Urbom Dan Kelly Harry Young Jay Leach Matt Corrente Raman Hrabarenka* Tryout Left Wings Mike Hoeffel Harri Pesonen J.S. Berube Chad Wiseman Joe Whitney* Not sure if he is signed to an AHL deal at the moment Centers David Wohlberg Tim Sestito Steve Zalewski Phil DeSimone* AHL Contract Kelly Zajac* AHL Contract Right Wings Mike Sislo Bobby Butler Matt Anderson Alexandre Carrier* AHL Contract Darcy Zajac* Not sure if he is signed to an AHL deal at the moment I didn't include Stefan Matteau LW since he'll probably play in the Q next year if there is a lockout. Also with all of those defenseman to be scattered around Albany and the ECHL, I guess it isn't surprising that the Devils didn't sign Corbin McPherson. I was hoping they'd give him a shot, California born righty d-man standing at 6'4 220 who captained Colgate his senior season last year. His age (23) probably works against him here. Triumph
I don't think the Devils have ruled out signing McPherson, and he could still sign an AHL deal. Of the people you list, I am pretty sure only Larsson and Josefson eligible for the AHL if the rules from last lockout stay in place. There might be a games played minimum that Stephen Gionta didn't hit, but he's on a one-way contract now.
Jas0nMacIsaac
Bobby Butler, Chad Wiseman and Matt Anderson were placed on waivers so they can play in Albany this season. Butler, Josefson, Tedenby, Henrique, Anderson, Wiseman, Zalewski, Pesonen, Sislo, Sestito, Wohlberg, Hoeffel It seems we have a jog jam of very good AHL players up front with very good young goaltenders and a very good defense. This maybe our year to make a run at the Calder Cup.

Jas0nMacIsaac
It's official, the team I posted should be very close to opening night's roster. Everyone will be playing in Albany. Do you think the Swedes would be better suited in the SEL?
Jas0nMacIsaac
Do you think the Swedes would be better suited in the SEL? AHL will be very strong this year, so no.
thefiestygoat
I'm interested in seeing how Urbom and Gelinas play against the better quality of competition this year. Should be a good measuring stick.
Jas0nMacIsaac
I'm interested in seeing how Urbom and Gelinas play against the better quality of competition this year. Should be a good measuring stick. They are a year older and will have Larsson eat all the tough minutes. I don't think we should expect much of a drop off in play, Gelinas will almost certainly score less goals.
Quinn01
Just got my tickets to Albany's opening night. On the glass in 108. Super excited.
Triumph
http://www.thealbanydevils.com/training-camp-roster-set Albany's training camp roster set, notable names that we haven't seen before: Scott Parse, formerly of the LA Kings, and Chris McKelvie, formerly of the Hartford Whale. thefiestygoat
Harry Young listed as a LW and TG pointed out that he played their during the developmental camp. Looks like they are going to try to make him into an enforcer now.
Jas0nMacIsaac
Harry Young as an enforcer may work if he is good enough at fighting. His defense and boardwork should be excellent for an enforcer. Scott Parse is talented enough to put up points at the NHL when healthy. He should help Albany's potent offense. Way too many players right now though, the training camp roster has 22 forwards, I wonder who gets sent to the ECHL - my guess would be K. Zajac, Haczyk, McKelvie, DeSimone, and two of Carrier, Young, or Berube. Hoeffel's a candidate too with how his season finished up.
Derlique
Does Wohlberg have a chance at an NHL career?
Triumph
Does Wohlberg have a chance at an NHL career? Career's a bit of a loaded word, but I think he has a shot to be an NHL player, yeah. I wouldn't bet on him playing 100 NHL games at even money, but I wouldn't bet against it at 3:1. JWomp
Why isn't Stephen Gionta playing in Albany? He's been an AHL player (and our AHL captain) for years. You'd think they would want him down in Albany during the lockout...
Jas0nMacIsaac
Tedenby - Josefson - Butler Pesonen - Henrique - Parse Wiseman - DiSimone - Whitney Sestito - Zalewski - Anderson Seems to be the team Albany is working with now. You'd think they would want him down in Albany during the lockout... My guess is they're afraid someone would take him on waivers. EDIT: although it also seems that he could've just been signed to an AHL deal. I guess they simply don't want him there for now. thefiestygoat
Here are some photos from Albany's camp courtesy of Mike Ashmore. He just started a new hockey blog called 5 For Writing that covers everything in the world of hockey. I recommend checking it out. He has an interview with Devils prospect Maxime Clermont about his goalie mask and will have interviews with the Devils other goalie prospects up soon. He also reports on his Trenton Titans blog that former Devils prospect Kory Nagy has been signed by the club.
