    GDT: SCF Game 7

BELIEVE!!!!!! Just remember, according to the infinite universe theory, in some universe a game 7 is being played today and copies of ourselves will be celebrating.
  3. In the grand scheme of things, nobody will remember this Devils team except for Devils fans and that's ok with me. Really wonderful season and I had a ton of fun watching them. We'll always remember beating the Rangers.
  4. I have two tickets in Section 210 row 7, looking for face value. Total price is $554. Game 1. PM if interested.

    TICKETS!!!

There are lots of tix now. I just bought 4 next to each other in the 100s for game 7. There are pairs in the 100s for game 5.
  6. The look on Lundquist's face makes me happier than anything

    Hilarious

    screencap this IMMEDIATELY
  8. I just want to say I love each and every one of you
  9. INSERT KOVALCHUK SOMETHING OR OTHER NEGATIVE THIS TEAM LOU LAMORELLO NEVER GONNA WHY AM I SO HAPPY
  10. I fell down the stairs celebrating. blood everywhere, feels fvcking awesome
  11. I really, really, love this new Rangers strategy. For 82 games plus the entire playoffs their defenseman sit back. Now, when push comes to shove, they ask their D to do something they haven't done all season. Results as expected.
  12. One of the ticket executives was saying on another board that there is an immediate cash windfall for each home playoff game. Player salaries, the highest portion of team expenditure, is very low during the playoffs. I don't know what the final amount of profit is but it has to be a minimum of 1 million per game. Furthermore, he said that each win brings in a lot of season ticket holders, sometimes as many as 80 per day. In the long run, it might be the new season ticket holders that might be the biggest benefit.
  13. http://www.mc79hockey.com/?p=4653 I found this to be a really interesting read. The author analyzes the Rangers shot-blocking ability on an individual and team level, and then also states what advantage (if any) it gives the Rangers. "7. Back to the main point: taking all of the above into account, if you wanted to come up with an estimate of how much the Rangers taste for blocking shots has saved them in terms of 5v5 goals in the playoffs (relative to the average team in the regular season), you probably come up with an answer of somewhere between 0 and 3 right now. That’s not nothing, but it’s not all that much. Is it the reason that the Rangers are in the third round? Seems unlikely but I guess you sound more sophisticated if you talk about that than you do if you say “Lundqvist is awesome” and certainly more sophisticated than you sound if you say “Lundqvist is handsome.”"
  14. Prices rose about $50 since Carter scored.
  15. What a win...wow... I didn't read through the whole thread but even when the Devils were winning 3-0 did anyone feel like the Rangers actually played their best first period and just got atrociously unlucky?
  16. So far this has been the most informative GDT. I never cared for the seafood fork. Go devils.
  17. As someone who has class every Tuesday and Thursday night the finals schedule and the ECF schedule have been miracles to me. Compare that with the Florida and Philly series and I was recording games and up until 2am watching them.
  18. Hey everyone. I have two tix tomorrow I'm willing to sell at face value to any Devs fan. I can't make the game tomorrow! I'm asking for face value $176 each. EDIT: Sold - you guys are quick.
  19. Lets be real. If by some miracle Tallinder is ready to play he needs to be in. He's been arguably the best defenseman over the course of the season while healthy. Certainly, he is an upgrade over today's version of Larsson. Josefson would be nice to have but with the way the 4th line is playing how much more can you squeeze out of it.
  20. Awesome, thanks. Your description triggered something I read a long time ago that showed how goalies would have to perform for an even goal differential. To only need an .861 to play coin-flip hockey is incredible.

    Amazing

Where is the save in the losing effort of game 1 where he dove back to the goal and got a rebound with his glove?
  22. I would be very interested to hear a brief version of why the 2008 Red Wings were among the greatest teams in NHL history.
  23. Counts as a blocked shot and a goal I believe.
  24. You're right, it could cause a little bit of a quirk. Canada is currently ranked 4th in the world (believe it or not). I believe the top 3 ranked teams are assured they won't be in the same preliminary group. So, essentially, there is a 1 in 3 chance now that Russia and Canada, arguably the two best teams, will be in the same preliminary "group of death." If the United States loses today there is a remote chance that one of the groups could consist of Russia, Canada, USA, and a lesser team.
