I don't think that anyone could argue against that if the war goes bad it is not good for the present goverment thus "beneficial" to the democrats. However, this has often been twisted into that they want the war to go badly. Which I really hope isn't the case (i sincerily hope that people cannot be that selfcentric) So as for answering that type of question the answer needs to be "of cource" and then the spincannon starts.
