smelly
Explain your math to me -- unless Hale is making 550k for the rest of the season, that has to be incorrect. It is. Tri's silence is deafening . . . and a concession that he ain't so all-knowing after all.
ice dog
greene looks fantastic, excellent skills, makes good decisions with the puck...i wish the best of luck to hale, but greene does appear to be a significant upgrade.

I also don't understand how we have Greene up here either, so it's all a mystery.
Z-Man
If Matvichuk is activated on March 1st, his cap charge will be $283,636. Subtract $7,273 from that amount for each day after March 1st that he is still not activated. Yes, I'm an accountant.

I will give Greene the benefit of the doubt because he did a lot of traveling to make the game last night. But he totally sucked last night. He was slow, indecisive and panicked a little too easily with the puck. I will give him the benefit of the doubt because it will take him at least 2-3 weeks before he can handle the speed of the NHL and also learn to interact with this D=partner. But I was very, very disappointed last night. Too bad about Hale, but he helps get Matty back on the roster for the playoffs.

If anything, this makes it more difficult to put Matty in the lineup. Either way I still like this move.
Devils731
It looks more and more to me like Gionta is going to get retroactively IRed and that will free up enough money for Matvichuk to play some regular season games before the playoffs. MantaRay
This would make sense.
njdevil26
Our first line NEEDS Gionta. I hope he comes back soon. I'd rather have the defense that we have now with Gionta in the lineup instead of keeping him out to try out Matvichuk.
MantaRay
I would rather have Gionta and Matvichuk at 100% so if it means resting Gio a little more to get Matty in the line-up...so be it.
