For years since '94 including the last time Lemaire coach the Devils sat on one goal lead as long as the crutch was in goal.. play defense and hope there isn't a 80 second lapse or collapse. He was asked to comment and it seemed the whole team was surprised by the skate. I'm glad coach tried to address an issue he noticed with the team. I dunno --- 'cause we were slow last night? We can't hussle our asses up and down the ice fast enough? I do think some guys looked like they needed conditioning even though they were moving fast -- they were really huffing and puffing on the bench I notice that with Martin and Langenbrunner. They looked fine on ice to me but when the camera caught them after a shift they were - just puffin away even after a few minutes.
