I agree with and understand both points. While I really don't like losing Boucher, for the reasons you described above, I also didn't want to see JJ let go either, because as long as the shootout is around and can possibly get you an extra point, it's worth keeping him on the roster, if even just for that. It has already helped us a few times, and with our current roster and being a fringe playoff team, a point here or there from a game like that could actually be quite critical.
That aside, like I said I was not in favor of losing Boucher at all, and I think he definitely had potential. I also have no idea why they wouldn't send Quenville back down (even though I am also REALLY excited to see him get a shot soon), so that Hall could come up without having to waive and lose someone. Just makes absolutely no sense to me. Has to be more personal reasons and feelings behind the scenes that we don't know about because the hockey ones just don't add up.
