thelastonealive
Alright, it's defeated me. The formatting just doesn't work right, and anything short of manually typing it out just produces a difficult to read glob of text. Soooo, if anyone wishes to manually type it out, be my guest, but I'm not interested enough to pull that off.

NJDevs4978
At least we get to ease into it without a back-to-back in the first couple weeks.

thelastonealive
If you have/plan to get Center Ice, you should. If not, you'll likely only get the games on NBC/NBCSN/NHL Network.
'7'
The plus of no trips out west...no game starts after 8pm! Is 3 games the standard max/min for homestands and road trips? Wouldn't shock me if the league gave the Rags two 3 game home stands and just one 3 game road trip (opposite of what we got) or a 3+ game homestand Not setting foot in MSG until late April is kind of silly. How about...you know balancing it out? Edited January 13, 2013 by '7'
thelastonealive
I read somewhere that the Stars have a stretch of 10-of-11 at home in March, and the Blackhawks open with 2-of-12 at home because of the circus or whatever, so I don't think it's standard per se - though probably more standard in the east than the west. Edit: To answer you question about the Rangers, they've got more "long" road trips and home stands: 2 home stands of 3 games 1 home stand of 4 games 1 road trip of 4 games 2 road trips of 3 games Interestingly, their three "long" home stands are in the early part of the season (last one is the four-game, and it ends on March 5th), and their three "long" road trips occur after their three "long" homestands have occurred, later on in the season. I don't know for sure, but I'd guess teams that share arenas generally probably have more long home stands and road trips. I imagine the Devils have greater scheduling flexibility due to no dates being taken by an NBA team. That would explain that scheduling
DJ Eco
Oh my word... Devils-Rangers at MSG on 4/27, final game of the season... So many potential storylines that game might be holding, I can't even contain myself..
TheMazz
I'm a little disappointed in the Atlantic Division schedule matrix for this season. There'll be 2 teams you play 5 times, and 2 you play 4... It should have gone like this: Rangers/Devils/Flyers/Pens/Isles/back to Rangers...So Devils would have had Rangers and Flyers twice. Actually, everyone would have had a recent and big rivalry those extra games
snartly
Wowwwww, I feel bad for the Winnipeg Jets players... Why? In their back to back games, they really dont have to travel much at all between them. I feel the NHL did the best they could surrounding their distance between areas
