  1. the devils don't always draft their needs, but they draft the best player available.. tenenby is a good example as devils have been stacked on the left wing for quite a while
  2. i wouldn't be suprised to see larry robinson or adam oats taking over, both have experience working w lemaire, and getting maclean back on assistant coach
  3. Which would feel the best for us fans.. beating the rangers tomorrow and eliminating them from the playoffs.. or losing to the rangers and have the hurricanes, who crushed our spirits 2 seasons ago in game 7 miss the playoffs.. i was too young to remember 94, but losing game 7 against the canes, was the most disapointing loss i've ever felt and the feeling stuck with me for at least a month, could not bare to watch another game until the next season started.
  4. i'm out of the country till april.. if u have games then i'm there. i'm in brooklyn
  5. I don't know if it's his new catch phrase, just caught onto it, but he has a blatant "MHMMM" when doc makes a good point. I counted 3 in the first 7 minutes today
  6. sounds like cap circumvention.. basically they found a way to get around the waiver rule by having nabokov not report to any team other than detroit so that the team would be forced to put him back on waivers until no one picks him up beside detroit.
  7. which league? he's not available in yahoo leagues yet
  8. even if we don't make the playoffs, we still have a top 14 draft pick, and since the draft isn't as deep, it makes it easier to trade down and get a few more assets in return. Also, we should try to finish as high as we can, the players need to carry the moral that their hard work dug them out of the basement
  9. by 20 wins i meant those 20 games must all be wins, they are mostly non-playoff teams and winning those games will help us gain points while the other teams don't gain points
  10. Looking at the Devils remaining schedule and their recent improved play, I'd say with a lot of wins and wishful thinking, this team has a decent shot at a playoff spot. Here are the teams we play: Penguins 4 times Flyers 2 times PANTHERS 3 times Red Wings 1 time SENATORS 3 times Rangers 3 times Bruins 2 times CANADIENS 2 times MAPLE LEAFS 2 times HURRICANES 3 times LIGHTNING 2 times Capitals 1 time Thrashers 2 times Sharks 1 time Stars 1 time BLUE JACKETS 1 time ISLANDERS 3 times SABRES 1 time teams in capital letters are teams that are struggling or teams we usually have their number.. that's about 20 wins we SHOULD get if we want to get that slim chance.. any thoughts?

rolston: if we win today i get to show my wife my "O" face.. O.. O..O
  12. Is anyone else watching the stars game in between devils intermission? Langenbrunner looks great out there. He's all over the place, shooting pucks, and actually getting them on net! looks like a kid again
  13. Perhaps Arnott is the next to go, and Columbus is desparately in need of a big center like Arnott. Columbus has a prospect they acquired from Washington named Theo Ruth http://www.hockeysfuture.com/prospects/theo_ruth Former second round pick, could develop well. I'd send Arnott and 4th round for Theo Ruth and a 2nd Round

i was at the game myself, and to an extent i deff agree with you. No matter how frustrated this team is getting me, i watch every game night in and night out, and i never leave a game before it's over. But it is impossible to create energy and be supportive, when no one on the team even remotely tries to play until the last five minutes of the game. My dad said look, they are losing every battle. I replied, no they aren't, there is no battle, they aren't even skating to the puck. The problem of this team is way deeper than any of us outside the locker room know. This team has been unmotivated and not playing well since feb 10'. I don't care if the arena is completely empty, right now they shouldn't be playing for fans, they should be playing for success and pride.
  15. first: sergei brylin in 96-97' approx. best: kovy (even though he was a little cold) worst: Stephane Richer, met him at a game when he was a healthy scratch i think, he didn't want to sign an autograph until some drunk dude said something. i was probably about 8-9 yrs old. met: brylin, gomez, richer, kovy, lemaire (first stint as coach), and lou in a restaurant. lou is awesome
  16. looking at cap geek and who can be possible trade partners with cap space/ positions needed, I'm looking at nashville. They def could use some muscle on the back-end and either white/salvador could fit that. I could see the devils sending white/salvador plus pelley + draft pick for maybe marcel goc or another depth player.
  17. i think the best deal for both teams would be to send rolston to edm for souray. souray is only 34 so he can still be put on waivers w.o his contract counting against the cap. Worst case scenario souray has a great camp, we move salvador + zubrus, have another booming shot on the point and give tenenby and josefson a shot on the team.
  18. how about 4 million over 14 years?
  19. http://tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=328025 The NHL has rejected Ilya Kovalchuk's 17-year, $102 million contract with the New Jersey Devils on the grounds that it circumvents the NHL's salary cap. Details to Follow…

    where were you?

I was on the crapper and my dad called me telling me they signed kovy.
  21. deff. corey schwab.. best backup jewish goalie ever. plus he was a fighter http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vOZBxIDFv4s&feature=related
  22. i can't believe they left out vlad konstantinov he was an insane hitter
  23. I think there are deff. some trades coming especially if we sign kovalchuk. We can most likely forget about moving rolston and white cause of their NTC and salaries. The most likely players that can go to free up cap is Salvador, Zubrus, and Langenbrunner. Langs is probably least likely to go, but you never know. The first thing to look at is teams with cap space looking to add to their defense or secondary scoring. One team i see right away where we can make a good trade is the DUCKS by sending salvador and maybe a prospect or pick for TODD MARCHANT. Yes he's already pretty old, but only one year left at 1.25 isn't too bad for 3rd-4th line center. another idea is st.louis. they have plenty of space and only 3 dman signed. Send Salvador to the blues for Jay McClement. two more seasons at 1.45 and he would deff be a solid 3rd line guy plus he's pretty young. This trade also would probably require a prospect or draft pick to get done. my last idea is a pretty wild one but one can dream. send Rolston and Zubrus to avalanche for Hejduk and say Tom Preissing.
  24. had a dream last night the devils traded rolston white pandolfo and some prospects to montreal for gomez and hamerlik
