Meh, don't care who is between the pipes only how many we put in there. I am rooting for a win to get us back on track and climbing the standings. LGD!!
Honestly, who woudl have thought Jagr had that much in the tank. I think he is making me apprecaite the difference between the greats and the very good. The fact that he is still able to do this at this stage is just amazing. Awesome to see the devs steal a win for once.
Honestly, I would never want it as the regular jersey again but I loved having it at Saint Pats and I'm sad that Lou will probably only do it for the stadium series game because of it. Outside of lockout it fealt like this was our St. Patrick's day tradition to rock the retro green.
Wow, I forgot how late these guys get on the west coast. Well here is rooting for a win and moving off 500 and up through the division. Lets God Devils!
ya The Fayne situation is tough and Im sure that Lou would love to move Sal or A-Train for something but I think the league knows this and there just are no takers. I like Fayne but ultimately it seems like we have stockpiled talent there. BTW, I changed channels with 10 minutes left and then passed out. Very happy to wake up and see we won.
Honestly, he isn't on the team anymore and we seem to have found some balance so I'm over it. I am much more intersted in the players we have on the team and how this all pans out.
LOL your so not classy, why would you do next, chance you suck =-p...
lets all be honest with enough alcohol in our system we are all capable of doing incredibly stupid things...add a sporting event and we are off and running.
Honesty I love having the retro jerseys and I loved having them right around St. Patryks day as it just fealt right. I was pissed we didnt do them during the lockout. I do wonder how the team and its policies will change with new owners. I am of the opinion that JVB was a terrific fan friendly owner that just didn't have enough money to own the devils.
Personally I have no desire for a alternate jersey outside of our throwbacks which I would love to see right around St Pats and wouldn't mind seeing during the winter classic.
I think what should be intersting is how this shakes out over the next 2-3 season as thet vets either leave or retire. I'm actually pretty excited to see if Merril (sp?) lives up to the hype and if Gelinas is the real deal long term.
I think it's important to not the market size difference when people bring a team here like the Red Bulls and they are not actually from the area. Red Bulls was a mized company just like the Newark arena when everything started. Over time the current ownership took over and they were looking at the 8 million people in NYC versus the 8 million people in the state of NJ. Ulitmately we hurt ourselves because we sometime sell ourselves as a 6th borough and enjoy the business that brings us and other times we want our autonomy. I remeber a few years back that they tried to pass legislation that woudl require any team that took public financing to be required to include the states name.
Also to the comment from Coffee cake, I think you need to understand that NJ has a huge NY transplate population so it gets complicated. I love my state but I get that we have those that are drawn by the international reputation that NYC has.
While I am happy to have a win heading into a few down days, I must admit being down as this little minny run has me excited to see how the team gells.
meh, I think Lou ended up stockpiling talent at D which isnt' bad as im sure he would love to package something together for a star but that rarely happens. I think he holds out as long as he can and trades one to two players for picks or guys in the minors.
Honestly, this isn't a bad problem to have. It seems the team and the system have been quite good at producing solid but not spectacular defensemen. I think the key is a balancing act till there is enough demand in the market that LL can get a return. I would hate to see us dump assets (even if only slightly valuable) for nothing.
