NJDevs4978
Yeah, the Nets Brooklyn arena will NOT be able to support NHL hockey full time due to its smaller seating bowl, which would make awful sight-lines for hockey. Which is kind of dumb, how would it have compromised their basketball arena to make it viable for hockey? With three hockey teams in the area they could have had had some neutral site and preseason games, provided the Isles with a fallback, maybe had some college and minor league hockey there too. This is true, and it may suck for the Isles ultimately if this plan gets voted down- but you can't deny that's good news for the Rock. Less competition for non-Devils related hockey events. maxpower
This isn't going to pass. Wrong place, wrong time. As for Brooklyn, I'm sure they can put a rink in there, whether the sightlines will be any good for hockey is another thing. Triumph
Why would they want to? people aren't coming from long island to brooklyn to see hockey.
mmajeski06
I guess you have to wonder what's next if this gets turned down. Kansas City bound? I would hate to see the Isles move. Sad to see a once great franchise run itself into the ground.

Anyway, good for the Islanders to finally make it this far. Now its time to see if the public is willing to pay for it. 1. Though not the original plan, this is dumb on Ratner and co.'s part for not having it hockey compatable. 2. Sucks for the Isles 3. Barclays looks hideous! Im relieved as a Devils and PruCenter fan that Barclays wont upstage us in appearance, ammeneties, hockey, etc..
SatansDevils
Finally going to happen. The Islanders organization and their fans deserve a new arena. If it does not go thru I can see the Islanders moving. Quebec, Winnepeg, Kansas City and Las Vegas are looking for an NHL team. Mr. Wang would have those 4 locations to choose from.
