Mitico12
Mogilny pays early dividend In Rats debut, veteran tallies game-winning goal Staff and wire reports First published: Saturday, January 14, 2006 River Rats 2 Americans 1 ROCHESTER -- Former NHL All-Star Alexander Mogilny scored the tie-breaking goal 15 seconds into the third period to carry the Albany River Rats to a 2-1 victory over the Rochester Americans on Friday night in the American Hockey League. Mogilny was waived by the New Jersey Devils last week and went unclaimed. He was assigned to Albany (13-24-0-2) this week and made his AHL debut Friday after 15 1/2 seasons in the NHL. Mogilny took the puck at center, sped away from winger Clarke MacArthur and defenseman Doug Janik, then flipped a backhander past the blocker and right shoulder of goalie Jean-Marc Pelletier to give Albany the 2-1 lead. River Rats goalie Frank Doyle made 36 saves as the Americans (19-18-1-1) outshot Albany 37-28. He allowed a first-period goal to MacArthur at 12:34. Another demoted NHL player, defenseman Dan McGillis, tied the score with a power-play goal 3:12 later. During his NHL career, Mogilny had 473 goals and 559 assists. Notes: Alexander Suglobov was called up by the Devils on Friday. Suglobov, who will celebrate his 24th birthday Sunday, filled the vacancy created when Mogilny was sent down. Suglobov has had a big season down in Albany, scoring 14 goals and adding 15 assists in 33 games.

Jas0nMacIsaac
No one ever spells it correctly.Aleksander Suglobov. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Some sites in North America spell it Alexander, I spell it Aleksander cause russianprospects.com does
Triumph
Alexei Morozov wanted everyone to spell it Aleksey. He should've been more concerned with his play than the spelling of his name. He'll be Alexander.
KarlovyVary
I have a foreign name, and I don't want people changing the spelling of my name just to make it easier on them. That's just stupid and highly insensitive. If Aleksey wants it spelled that way, then that's the way it should be spelt.
LizDevil30
X in Russian is not our X. A Russian X makes a hard H sound. Also Aleksander isn't pronounced the same way Alexander is. I agree with you 150% Karlovy. Looking forward to the Olympics in Torino!

We have articles about Stevenson, Holik, and even Fleury in Hell. Why not Mogilny?
RowdyFan42
It's not intended to be discriminatory against Mogilny, it's just that Purgatory is the minor league board, so that's where articles about the Devils' minor league team goes.
