95Crash
The fans The 3 Stanley Cups The GM (Lou) The winning tradition, built up from years of losing The stars (Brodeur, Stevens) The team-first dedication Mr. Devil (Daneyko) The cool "Devils" name The Crash Line (McKay, Holik, Peluso) The Rock The important team players (MacLean, Madden, Niedermayer, Lemieux, et al.) The parking lot celebrations The coaches (Lemaire, Robinson, Burns, et al.) The red, white & black Mike "Doc" Emrick Brendan Byrne/Continental Airlines Arena Glenn "Chico" Resch The "Seinfeld" episode Jeffery Vanderbeek The Devils Mascot The Devils Den Mike Miller The red, white & green "Have another donut, you fat pig" 334 Club The Jersey Devil name origins Everything mentioned above -- the rich tradition, the history, the fans of this team -- has been gravy over the original reason I became a Devils fan. This team took on the New Jersey name, representing Garden Staters all over the country, and continues to carry it while few other teams will. It is a team we here in Jersey can proudly call our own. Thank you, Dr. John McMullen.

DaneykoIsGod
Plain and simple ... they represent New Jersey. Everything else is just monkeyshine.
MantaRay
They are the only team professional sports team proud enough to be from New Jersey. I remember the first game at the Brendan Bryne Arena and haven't looked back. Lou and Dr. McMullen made us proud
dali
Devils trapped my heart with their "uncool" style to play hockey. Back in my youth it was popular to root for Red Wings, Habs, Mighty Ducks (thanks to Teemu Sel

spyro
Very good post and I agree 100%. However, the most amazing thing about your post was that you got the 2 dots above the a in Selanne. yea how do u get those dots lol But seriously- the fact that this is NJ's team is my favorite part about it. You guys have no idea how much we (people from South Jersey) get for not liking the Flyers. But, I've been loyal to my state team. I know it sounds korny but who cares. Also it has been such a gift watching Marty. Who can forget Patty's 96 pt season. The cups. The parades. Life is sweet being a devils fan
NJCroMag
WHY I'M PROUD TO BE A DEVILS FAN (AN EXHAUSTIVELY-RESEARCHED ESSAY BY NJCROMAG) They have pretty jerseys, and Zach Parise is dreamy. (The End.)

dali
I was seriously not trying to say that your post was nonsense, I actually liked and agreed with it. My comment amount the 2 dots being amazing was just a joke; I was not insinuating anything negative about the quality of your actual post. I know you didn
