I thought it was very good. There were some key parts that should have been added, I don't know who did the editing for it. Positive comments from Smelrose! What's this nonsense about Thomas being one of the best clutch players in the NHL and FrankenHolik being the best defensive forward in the NHL?! Wtf....? :puke:

I liked the player interviews in the first part and being summer it was great to see some hockey! Made me miss it! mecry.gif

Man, that game 7 against Ottawa was brutal! I remember having a dry sore throat, pacing non-stop for the last 8 minutes of the game and I went nuts when Friesen scored then kept saying hold on to the lead! When the clock ran out, I jumped up and the dog went running, I started screaming and the phone started ringing. (well that was a tangent, sorry!)

It was great to relive some of the moments, what a terrific year this has been. For me personally, I have to take another chance to thank Linda for all her generosity and kindness this year, especially in the playoffs and Finals. Also without her, you would not be able to see me sitting next to her in the DVD! I can see her several times, the blonde mane there but there is one shot where you can see the whole kit & kaboodle. So, if by some chance you want to see what I look like, look behind the Sucks bench and look for the dark long hair and most of all the home jersey with all the pins on it--ya can't miss it! winksmile.gif With witnessing game seven in all it's glory then being able to see and touch and hug and kiss the Cup, it doesn't get any better! biggrinlove.gif

To the Devils and the Stanley Cup, I would like to say:mrstraetz.gif

Cup champs!!

OK, I'm ready now. ;)

I think it has its great moments and its fair moments. I think it does have a heavy Ducks outlay, but I think we're just all so aware of that right now that we look for it.

But they were preparing to use that for either the Devils or the Ducks championship DVD, quite obviously.

The great things:

--Anytime Marshall gets to speak. He's so genuine. You just sit on the edge of the seat waiting to hear what he's gonna say.

--We finally DO get to see Sykora-Elias shake hands and hug.

--The extras are pretty good. Following Marty around is funny. I hadn't seen the Moriarty interviews, so they're great.

--They're our boys. Anything is really just fine by me.

--No shots off the Mighty Sucks couple. Thank you.

--The parade over the credits was good. Including the Pando chant is choice.

The bad things:

--Like was previously mentioned -- no Nieds. He has an A. He should be all over the thing. He WAS the Devils best player through the playoffs -- and that's saying something cause we had five studs.

--A lot of stories that were key weren't even mentioned. No mention of the Nieds brothers. That's too far the OTHER way. No mention of Freeze, Tivo burning former team.

--Where WERE the Devils bench shots? I can understand maybe not having the practice or locker room shots, cause I DID hear that Lou kept them pretty well sequestered.

But there's no sequestering on the ice. I would have liked a LOT more reaction.

HD too, also has its ups and down.

They should call it puck TV. I guess the principle is follow the puck closeup. So that means lots of shots of thighs and such and you sort of miss the greater picture.

But then you get to see some stuff you wouldn't otherwise have. And the commentary is light years better. Hey, they mentioned Nieuwendyk and Tivo not being in... Wow!

The last minute is strangely not there. But the post-game celeb is MUCH better, which many of the things I wanted to see. ESPN just trailed Stevens and Brodeur around and waited for their Mama Nieds shot.

ESB I'm surprised no comments on one of your favs Friesen; he was featured throughout both with the interviews and the Cool Shots thing with him and TiVo. He's pretty honest; he basically admitted he was one of the ones that Stevens was getting pissed off at in Detroit when he had that big speech. I was surprised to hear him say Ottawa was the best team he ever played; that is high praise.

Zam I assume you're talking about the video of the third period of Game 7? Can't see too many crowd shots during Game 7 in the regular video. I was kind of hoping I'd show up somewhere on there since there was an NHL Productions camera in my face after the game but oh well

I haven't seen this video yet however I am not upset about all the posts saying what it is about...gives me more to look forward to...no one can spoil it for me :D

Well you're also one of the people who gets to see games live, gets to meet and email and whatever you do with the players.

It's pretty different on this end. And you're not gonna understand but that's OK because it's not about you.

I enjoyed the DVD. It is cool to see game clips in better quality than a lame VHS tape. It seemed like they interviewed more players than the 2000 video. I remember Marty & Arnott from that one the most. I would have liked to see interviews with all of the players though.

I am glad the calls from 770AM are on there. That is the first time I heard the Cup win call. All of the features were shown on CoolShots except for the best one, "Marty's Celebration". Smokin' and jokin' Marty is priceless!

Wait a minute here, didn't you get to meet the players earlier this year? Hell I remember your avatar with Elias your fav earlier on. Didn't you get to touch/hug the Cup? Those are two things you've done I never have and I live in state. It's not like you haven't gotten 'anything' distinctive out of this year. Your list of souveniers was long enough too, not like being out of state really hampered you there. And I hardly think one minor spoiler (which incidentally was posted on this board months ago) 'ruined' anything for you, especially with how much you of all people took this playoff run to heart.

I agreed with you a while back I did think the other poster was rubbing his experiences in EVERYone's face somewhat, but I think you're being a tad melodramatic here ;)

I'm not being melodramatic.

My point in the original thread where I made my request was that I wanted to be surprised by the video. I just didn't want to know details. I don't think there was anything wrong with asking for people to use spoilers. At other forums, for music and movies and TV shows it's regular procedure. And that's all I wanted here

And my point in this post was just that I wanted it to be new to me for a change. I wanted when I was watching it to see something fresh that I didn't really know about -- like SPOILER HERE IF YOU DON'T WANNA KNOW YET how Grant Marshall reacts to being asked what it feels like. I watch the games here on video, often after I've seen them from a distance on a TV live or the highlight reels with the goals and great saves. So I know what's going to happen and how it happens. And it's not fresh and new to me that way for almost eight months of the season.

The people in New Jersey are VERY lucky to have everything there. To get to go to these playoff games and see them live and experience it all. To meet the players in person.

It isn't the way it is for me for them for seven-and-a-half out of the eight months of the season. It's not really a big deal. I asked for a small thing that became a big deal.

And I never said I don't get anything. I've gotten plenty of things. I work to get them in my life -- giving up other things to get those opportunities. But that's not close to my point at all.

The spoiler didn't ruin anything. Some lines got crossed, a person produced a spoiler when he didn't get my meaning. Nobody died, no one's injured. I stayed away, I saw the DVD. And I thought the issue was over.

I meant to add that I wasn't too thrilled with Melrose being on the video. He probably only wanted to be on tv. He can't say anything nice about the Devils until they win. He didn't even know Marty never won a Vezina until late in the season!

I'd also like to know why Paul Kariya can't close the door to his own damn Mercedes?! And what a surprise, Giguere drives a Hummer. Who doesn't have one of those now?!

BY THE WAY, I believe the person who spoiled the DVD for everyone involved was only here for the occasions when he won tickets for the premiere and attended the Stevens' signing. I don't understand why more dedicated fans are going to stick up for the bandwagoner.

That was a Lexus SC430 Kris, not a Benz :D (not trying to sound like an ass there, sorry if I did..haha)

Yeah I HATE seeing all the H2's around. Really destroys the Hummer iamge if you ask me. Hummer's are supposed to be rare, above the rest of the SUVs. Now it's just as common as a Jeep (like mine) or an Explorer. Sickens me, Hummer's are meant to be off the road half the time, yet when I look in half of them, got a mother of 4 in there, SHE'S NOT TAKING IT OFFROADING!!! Get a Dodge Caravan! Sorry, I love cars and pisses me off when I see that.

Jeep's are the same way, they are made for going off the road. And I use that option. Why get a Jeep if you aren't going to have some fun on bumpy trails or through HUGE puddles or creeks? Get a sedan then, save your time.

If you're referring to me I didn't stick up for him, that wasn't my intent. He was immature to rub all his experiences in everyone's face (especially being a new poster) and I did say as much in my original post. All I said was I didn't think it was 'that' much of a spoiler. I made my point she made hers it's over with now. :)

People aren't mad for me starting this thread? Cause I didn't give anything important away. I just talked about the Special Features in a little detail about everyone knows what the special features are, even if they don't own the DVD yet. It's on the cover of the DVD and also online, wherever you go to look at the prices, got a list of the Special Features there.

Plus anyone would know this is about the DVD by the title.

No, NJay.

All is well. There was a miscommunication in a Hell forum thread earlier this week.

It went away.

We had a little uproar here today, but that's all smoothed out too.

It's so blasted easy to get misunderstood online.

Just wait until the H3 arrives. Supposed to be based on the Envoy/Blazer.

I agree with Rock, too much Duck footage. I think - and maybe Brian or Chris said it first - that evern in the third period shots they thought the Ducks might make an incredible comeback and clinch the series. Who knows? It could have just been that that was the only place they could position their camera.

I thought there could be more footage and less interviews, but all in all I said very good because of the special features. The Ottawa third period is incredible to watch. That series was incredible. They're still eurowussies, though.

I think two things came into play here.

1. They planned to use this portion no matter who won. So whoever won, that's whose DVD it went on. Whoopi's not on this part, if I remember right -- but I did only see it once. So that kind of backs up that theory.

2. Lou did not give the media as easy access to the Devils as they got to the Ducks. That goes a long way to explaining a lot. It's fine, it's what he wanted, but that does translate into locker room interviews and the like.

But that doesn't mean they shouldn't have had on-ice cameras. Probably just pissed at what they did get or something.

I have no idea who in particular stuck up for the bragger but I just know some people did. End of story . . . until he wins tickets to another event . . .

And no, this wasn't the topic that ruined the DVD experience for first time viewers.

Oops on the Mercedes/Lexus comment. Kariya lost even more credibility with me now. My BMW 960Li will kick his car's butt. I wish!

Oh GREAT!

Thanx GM, for destroying the Hummer image. What's next, Aston Martin's not being handmade anymore and as common as a Ford Escort?

The DB7, and DB7 based models are mass produced, although not in insane quantities. Still an excellent car.

The other Aston Martin models are still built the old way.

Even some Rolls-Royce cars have been thrown on an assembly line.

These companies all have corporate owners now...Ford (Aston Martin, Jaguar, Land Rover, Volvo), GM (Saab, used to own Lotus), Volkswagen (Bentley/Rolls-Royce).

Impressive Hasan...10 yrs younger than the poster and you get it...btw Hasan...how many games did I get to see this year...oh yeah that's right...not many...I was busy tending to dying bones...how fortunate for me eh ;)

I can tell who ya quoted without really having to read the original post...I dew get perks tho because I happen to have friends that are of legal age and associated with the organization...the thing is I don't post everytime I am presented with one of these perks...big diifference...you are incorrect also when you say I wouldn't understand...the thing is I understand more than you know...but you are correct when you say it is not about me...correct...it is always about YOU...starved for attention eh...so sad....NOT!:lol:

You should think before you type sometimes...your definition of bandwagoner would apply to a lot of folks here a person cannot help but like, for example, folks from Texas...also...no one spoiled anything for anyone...a person has a choice about what threads to read...I asked about pics and no one cared so I just handled it myself instead of attacking...sheesh...some of you out there need either thicker skin or about 20 more years life experience

Sticking up for...taking sides...friggin sophomoric...people should be able to take care of themselves and not need an army of ants :puke:
