  1. http://www.thefourthperiod.com/trade_deadline/top25.html This top 25 list has Rostislav Olesz available for trade, knowing the Rangers love Czech's, they'd probably go for him. Also, Nathan Horton, Keith Ballard and Jordan Leopold I presume are the others available for trade. Oh yea, but Єklund (2.3% accurate) (2.3% accurate) has it on his site as well, so I really do not know what the deal could be about.
  2. Again, its the struggling Power Play and hesitancy to take shots. But, the turning point was not kicking Carter out of the game.
  3. Just letting everyone know.
  4. Єklund (2.3% accurate) (2.3% accurate) increased his accuracy by .01 of a percentage point.
  5. He's hurt right now with a throat contusion, and is out 4-6 weeks dating back to Jan 7th, but I just don't see Lou going that way, he will go the "Out of the Blue" way at the deadline if anything.
  6. Good, send him out west, no more playoff OT goals against the Devils. The pain of the 06 Game 2 and 09 Game 7 is still felt inside me.
  7. Jokinen is diminishing as a player, in a year or two, he will get dealt again.
  8. http://tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=308527 The Rangers have agreed on a deal, but a small snag has been hit that has derailed the deal so far, but stay tuned.
  9. The Leafs are Buyers and sellers at the deadline.
  10. He's a good defenseman, but knowing Lou the past deadlines, he has relatively gone for 2nd or 3rd tier defensemen. It would not surprise me at all if the Devils get him or get anyone for that matter a fact, because Lou always gets someone out of the blue in a way and he always discusses trades in pure secrecy, so we have to wait until February 12th or March 3rd to see what Lou does since the 12th midnight is the Olympic Trade Freeze I'm pretty sure. I am not crazy about a Phaneuf deal.
  11. I think they do need some holes to fill and need one more secondary scorer or finisher. But for now when all is healthy: Parise Zajac Langenbrunner Elias Zubrus Rolston Pandolfo Niedermayer Clarkson Pelley McAmmond Bergfors Extras: Peters, Zharkov Oduya Martin White Greene Salvador Fraser Extras: Corrente Notes: I would trade Mottau, I mean he is still ok, but his game is usually exposed late in the season. Martin will take some pressure of Oduya, who is lagging heavy minutes right now, which he is not accustomed to doing along with Andy Greene, who will be an All Star in my mind. But the team definitely needs another scorer close to the deadline, and do have some pieces they can move. But we shall see what will happen.
  12. No surprise at all, might as well put Peters on waivers as well. Hopefully Lou can get some actual scoring at the deadline for the playoffs finally. I doubt he would be claimed though so Lowell is likely the destination.
  13. I feel bad for Andy Murray, I really thought he had something special going in St. Louis, but hopefully his unemployment will be short. He is a great coach.
  14. Well they got spanked by the f-ing Canes but that does not mean anything until the next game. I am surprised they traded Clark, because of his physical presence, he was a big part of Calgary's 2004 run. It looks like Bradley, Erskine, Poti or Laich will get the "C" since Ovechkin doesn't want to be Captain as he previously said due to his poor English I believe.
  15. Congrats to Johnny Oduya, its going to be a dangerous team, but for now I think the path is Canada vs Russia for the Gold Medal match.
  16. I think its way too early to talk about Free Agency, especially with the way the team is playing right now. Plus, its the final year of the CBA next year, so we do not know what the economic landscape will be like the following year. I know there will be no lockout, because the league cannot afford another one like they did in 04-05, but its early. Personally, I could care less, because every year its always talk between every Devils fan, but no action with Lou. If Martin leaves, the expectation will still be the same, Stanley Cup or bust. Lou knows the microcosms of the team and he saw something of this years team that made him stand pat during most of the summer. So, I think everyone should stop worrying and just let Lou do his job, but first lets just keep rolling this year. What happens during the summer will take care of itself, but stop the panic. I mean look at the Kings and Avalanche as well as Phoenix. All I am saying is Free Agency is way too overrated and that if you do not win the cup, you might regret something in the long run. Once again stop the panicking. Whatever the line-up is next year, it is, the fan base will be the same and who ever Lou brings in or out will be just because he thinks the team will be better off. I am excited about the prospect of Tedenby, Josefson, Cormier and a much more mature Corrente next year. Maybe Halischuk will be better as well, so I do not expect much from Lou next summer but what do I know. But I will not panic.
  17. http://blogs.northjersey.com/blogs/fireice Devils general manager Lou Lamoriello said this morning that defenseman Paul Martin will miss at least another four weeks after having what he called
  18. Possible Lines for next year Parise Zajac Langenbrunner Elias Zubrus Rolston Pandolfo Cormier Clarkson Tedenby Josefson Bergfors Extras: Henrique, Leblond, Halischuk
  19. I would guess they'll all be back by the middle of January, I am kind of surprised that Martin is taking longer than expected, so it looks like he cannot get the grip on the stick as well as he would like to.
  20. Last night I see him wear Reebok and Easton in the same game. Some other games he wears Warrior as well.
  21. Now Brian Elliot knows how Lundqvist feels abotu giving up a goal to Salvador in the decisive Game 5 in the 2008 playoffs.
  22. I chose the Yashin trade, which short term was good for the Islanders, but Spezza has turned into one of the best centers in the league despite his numbers this year and Chara is a Norris candidate here and there, so long term the Sens benefit from this even though Chara is a Bruin now. The Bertuzzi trade was very good for Vancouver, since Todd is 4 years older than Roberto and the Canucks have a franchise goaltender and Bertuzzi did not even last in Florida as he was traded to Detroit. What about the Kovalev back to Rangers trade as well for Samuelsson and others.

    Potential Trades

Right now is not the time to discuss trades or rumors. I don't think the Devils really need Scott Niedermayer, because the core d-men that are currently on the team are playing very well and Paul Martin is yet to come back, so for now I would imagine no Niedermayer. The question now is, who comes out of the line-up when Martin does come back? It would suck to see Fraser be a healthy scratch, but that the nature of the game right now. My prediction and I will not throw out any names is that Lou will likely get a forward at the deadline rather than a defenseman, but Niedermayer will be the guy if he trades for blue-line help.
  24. http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=509392 Has 4 goals and 2 assists this season for a total of 6 points.
  25. Hopefully everything is ok with Elias, he rushed out of the Arena without even speaking to reporters. Maybe the Snow outside had a lot to do with everything.
