Name & Number T-Shirts

I've really been into the name & number t-shirts for the last few years, but I've been kinda disappointed with the Devils selection since they first debuted. It seems the only ones you can get are the usual suspects: Brodeur, Parise, Elias, Clarkson, Kovy. I know this is true for the majority of the teams in the league, so I can't really complain about it.

Moving on, I'd like to ask the board if anyone knows of a place to get name & number t-shirts either custom made or if there is a place that has a full roster selection of the 30 NHL teams. My girlfriend has been looking for a Zajac t-shirt for a long time, and I would like to pickup a Henrique one for myself. NHL.com has a custom t-shirt engine, but you can't use current roster players. blink.gif

If anyone has any hidden gems, I'd appreciate it! Thanks! smilydev.gif

I have a Zajac t-shirt that I never wear. I got it from Models I believe or it could have been Sports Authority, Im not exactly sure on that one. It was one of those two though.

Nice! I live on Long Island, so unfortunately for me, all the sporting goods stores around here are jam packed with Rangers and Islanders crap. And the occasional Colorado Avalanche jersey. rolleyes.gif

My wife has a black Zajac T she got at Sports Express. They are closed of course but for the hell of it, send Ron a message on facebook (Sports Express) and see if he sold any inventory to another dealer who might have them.

Excellent, thank you! I'll check that out.

I got a black Zajac number shirt for $4.97 marked down from $25 from Sports Authority in Piscataway about 2 weeks ago and posted it I think in the Marketplace section of the forum. The jerseys with lettering were also marked down to $100 and the blanks were $80.

I know In The Game Collectibles in Holmdel also had Andy Greene number shirts during his signing, but havent seen them since and I know they closed/moved since then.

I bought an Oduya (seriously, Johnny Oduya) shirt at the Stadium Shop in the Gateway between Newark Penn and the arena a few years ago, so you might wanna check there on your way to a game (for Zajac, doubt you're finding Henrique there lol).

It was a legit shirt too, no different from my Brodeur one. It's funny to think that Johnny Oduya was briefly a name big enough here to deserve his own tee shirt.

Some of them will let you put in the name and number of someone on the roster.

I think PuckRock was looking for the short-sleeved t-shirt variety by his post and I am trying it now on there and it is not allowing me to put roster players on there.

I think it probably has to do something where they do not have an agreement in place with the NHLPA to use their names for the shirts yet but only allow the pre-made ones so far.

nhl.com doesnt do it anymore? i went on there last year and they gave you an option for a custom short sleeve tee with any name and number you wanted. you could also choose if you wanted black or red for a tshirt. i got a madden tshirt that way.

edit: oh, i didnt notice the part about current roster. thats just strange.

Your new username is phenomenal, Truly old-school.

Thanks to everyone for the responses. It really is a bit absurd you can't use current roster players for the custom tshirt on NHL.com, but I guess I understand why.

I had no idea you could have custom t-shirts made at the arena. Sundstrom, have you or anyone you know done that before? I may just do that tomorrow night.

Thanks again, guys!

yes, i have done it a couple times. the easiest place is outside the ice lounge (section 7-8-9). there's one at the devils den downstairs but that's always crowded. you can go early and come back 30 minutes later and it's done. i don't recall cost (i think $30) but they'll do it on a t-shirt or sweatshirt (grey, black or red).

Hmm, maybe they changed their policy. I was at the recent Saturday afternoon game against the Islanders and went to that place outside the Ice Lounge to get a name/number put on a T-shirt and was told that they only do that for jerseys, not T-shirts. I asked the guys who worked there if there was any place in the arena that did it for T-shirts and was told to try the Devils Den. So I went to the Devils Den, and they told me the same thing -- names/numbers on jerseys only, no T-shirts.

BTW, I see that the Devils Den sells Larsson T-shirts now.

that has to be as of about 2 weeks ago. i saw it getting done earlier this season. they might just have stopped using the iron on type numbers/letters and just went with jersey quality. unless you asked for jersey lettering on a t-shirt - that they won't do.

I just asked them if they put names and numbers on T-shirts. I didn't say anything about jersey lettering.

I'll ask again next time I go to a game -- probably in a few weeks.

I've gotten a few right off of NHL.com. Don't worry about the current roster, just put a space before and after the name. It'll keep it centered but not pick it up on the "current roster" crap.

I've gotten a Fraser and Tedenby one.

Can't believe I didn't think of that. Awesome tip.

Now, I know the custom shirts are heat-sealed. How is the quality of the lettering compared to the ones you can buy in the Devils Den?
